Buying Lights Monday HELP

They are basically the same you will get the same spectrum.
The QBs are a bit more efficient but COBS run cheaply and are better for light penetration.
Personally Id go for the COB.
Hope this helps.

DIY cobs or China blurple are cheapest

If you want a retail light, I’d be looking at Spectrum King, Optic LED or HLG, myself.

Yes thanks everyone for replies. 3X3 tent. I've been looking at so many. So would the Optic 4 be better than say QB 260 series? I have a $200 Grow bright 800 watt COB actual watts 210. Unit farms have some meat lights with the Crees & whatever the order chips are? I know someone will tell me . Lol

If you want to learn about LED's as far as DIY and the basics check out GrowMau's you tube videos, so much info there. I watched all of them multiple times and after pricing out DIY cobs Timber is just as cost efficient and its ez pz. plug and play.

Optic 4 is more than enough for a 3x3. I think it pulls ~415w from the wall. I did a grow with it on my YouTube channel and it worked fine. I vegged too long in my 3x3 and had to move it to the 4x4 but the light still did good. I didn’t push them to the walls of the 4x4

Nice grow InnerG and yes it pulls 415 from the wall. Now you used it from start to finish? Do you currently use the Optic 4 ? PS which would you suggest Optic 4 or https://simatiks.ca/product/truesun-4/ https://opticledgrowlights.com/cart

I used it start to finish on that grow, I currently have the optic 4 in my 3x3 and a SK400+ in my 4x4

I honestly can’t give an informed opinion on the other light. It looks really similar but I don’t know anyone personally who has used one.

Ok thanks & I appreciate your honesty. They look the same was wondering what the difference is. I'll do the side by side. I was being lazy asking. Haha

They are the exact same light, Same factory same components and warranty. If you are in Canada save your money and go with Simatiks.ca
Here is another growers on the forum using it: https://www.rollitup.org/t/first-post.958498/ he says its the perfect sun but if you look down in the thread he says its a TrueSun.
You can also Youtube "Simatiks" for videos to compare it with the optic.

Hlg 300 would be perfect imo I wouldn't waste the extra money on spectrum king it's a much higher cost with less output per watt
What he said. ^^^

I'd take a QB over the Optic 4 in a heartbeat..... Epistar is inefficient, outdated, old news. I build my own, but for plug and play I'd buy these with top shelf diodes and MeanWell drivers.... and they don't play the 800 watts "equivalent" / 200 actual BS. You should post over in the LED section, just don't mention the Optic 4. ;)

I'll put my vote in for the HLG 300 as well. I'm running the 135w 288 kit over a 2x2 space right now and it's kicking serious ass. When I switch back to a bigger space I will definitely be looking HLG for my lights. Top fucking notch. Get with @Stephenj37826 or any of the HLG guys and I promise they will treat you right with any questions or concerns you might have.
