Cab almost complete. Got a few questions

I'm currently at a stand still with the project. I'm leaving next month for a few weeks and won't be around to water so will have to start when I get back. However, since I have some time, I've decided to build a smaller cab (10"x18"x36") and I would like to build some leds to put inside of it. I'm thinking 2 50w CREEs...I just need to do the research on putting them together and buying the needed parts.
That's plenty of power for such a small space. 2 at 30 or 35 would be plenty.

Ahhh, okay. I was just going off of what I read on another thread. Any particular CREEs you would recommend? Drivers?

An HLG 60/700 would push 25 watts each to 3 3590s. For the price, I'd run bridgelux V18 chips. Small tradeoff in efficiency but you're really blasting that area with light either way.

Okay, I "think" I'm starting to understand this led stuff.
How about this:
(2) Cree cxa3070 3000k (Z2 bin)
(2) 60W Drivers 1.4amp, 09-42v
Each led would have it's own driver.
I'm thinking of making one bar, similar to the design in the pic but that one has 2 bars. My drivers would be placed in the center and I would make the bar 12" long.

Here are the values for the cxa3070. One thing I've yet to understand is led efficency.
LED efficiency is just the value of how much light is given off at a specific current.
For example if LED A consumes 50 watts of power and gives off 6000 lumens then a different light, LED B, that consumes the same 50 watts might give off only 5400 lumens because it is less efficient at that current.
The more efficient the LED chips, the more light you get for the same power consumption.
On a side note, I hope those drivers are dimmable...

Ahhhh...thanks for the info! It makes sense now.
After more research, I've decided to go with the cxb3590s and a mean well hlg185-c1400b driver.
I'll put 2 on the driver for the time being and add 2 more to it later down the road when I use a larger space.
Thanks again for all the help!

Nice and clean ! Maple? Kreg jigs, trim and stain.......holy shit nice work Bob motha F'n Villa. Good looking assortment of seeds. Well done do it right the first time and relax.Sub'd for sure you put my construction skills to shame.

Very nice looking cab! As Fikeman said, you put my construction skills to shame as well!

Will keep watching with interest to see this turns out. Your space is not that much different in size to mine. I've got two plants under an ebay panel. Considering the size they got to though I'll probably go back to one for the next grow with a similar DIY cob light.

I like the way you have the intake in the floor... Very neat.
Good luck with it
