Hello everyone
Well I have finished my cab build and just started too test it.So far it is doing alright. The temps are a little high but the cabs in the garage at this time.Temp are 88 to 90 degrees but when I move it inside the house it should drop 10 to 12 degrees.I build the cab out of maple plywood and ash, cherry so it looks like furniture.Heres what I put in it
1.ebb flood tray 22"x22"and cover with four 5" net pots
2. 17 gal res with a cover
3. two timers
4. powerhead to cirulate the res water& put o2 in the water
5. 264 GPH flood pump
6. air pump & 8"stone
7. 6" cool tube & 400 watt electronic ballast
8.Two 6" fans,one 200cfm one 300cfm
9. two muffle fans 3"x3"
10. one 125 watt conpact fluorescents light
The 6" 300cfm fan pulls air through the cool tube and out vented the top of the cab.The other 6" 200cfm is a intake thourgh a dark room vent and blows out a 10x10 filter into the grow chamber. This fans runs all the time. The seed & clone tray is on a slide out so its easy to get at.Above that is the ballast and timers air pump and the electric outlets.Above that is the 300cfm fan hook to the cool tube .A few more tests and dialing in everything and in the house it comes.I will start a grow and log it here. Now if I can get these pixs to post you can see too. Please let me know if you see anything that I need to do please do tell me. Peace :joint::blsmoke: I can not get these pix to post, how do you resize them? I'll post them in the marijuana pixs area. Peace

Aye put the electronic gadgets above the water.
I think you said you have a fan under your resovoir.
Is this on the outside of the box?

You do not want to take a chance of spilling any water that may run down onto electrical things.

Everthing else sounds cool though.
I would just be careful of electricity.

Happy growing

Hey midgradeindasouth
I posted the pixs in the marijiuana pixs under grow room setup. The rigth side of the cab has all the fans and electronic, the left side is the grow chamber.
All electronic timers, ballast, ect are in the middle of the right side. The fan on the bottom is not goiing to get wet,it blows through a filter first and is not under the res. Theres no elec. dangers, everything is plug in to a gfi outlet.
Check out the pixs in the marijiuana pixs section and you can see all the cab workings. Peace

Hey everybody Been running test on the cab yesterday and today. The temps inside the cab start out at 6:00am at 78 degree,10:00am 85,12:00pm 88, 5:00pm 90,and at 10:00pm 86 degrees. The water temp gos' from 70 degrees to 81 degrees in the 18 hours that the lights are on.I hope when I move the cab inside the house out of the garage that the temps come down. The house is central heat & air and is at 70 degree all the time.I'am testing & tuning in the cab in the garage first,so when she comes in the house it ready to grow. She will be in the house by tuesday. All the planning and work to build it is coming together and I'am happyer than a 3 peckered billy-goat in a field full of nanny.nannys are female goats. Peace

You can post the pics right here by going advanced and then go to manage attachments. Kinda brings it all together. Sounds like you have put a lot of time and money building a nice 'closet' grow. Looking forward to seeing the pics of your plants. VV

Holy crap TOKE - Your cab is GORGEOUS! I'm insanely jealous. I wish I had the skills man. Hanging my lights was like rocket science for me... lot's of duct tape.... Let me know how you deal with the high res temps, especially if you start using the frozen bottles in there, and if the roots don't mind. Peace.

Hey everybody
Thanks for all the great compliments,I will post on the first grow in the cab.I havent sat down and added up all the cost. But I will do that soon. For the building skills I have been a carpenter all my life and a woodworker too.I love building things out of wood.Oh VV I try to post the pixs here but uploading they came back {could not resize upload failed}I looked at my camera and I can resize them before I take them,so Iwill try again. This will be the first time in hydro for me.I have read lots and lots on hydro and yes I will make some of the dumpest mistakes you can make I know this. With all the stuff I have learn here and in books I think I'll do ok.Thanks alot for compliments soon as the test and tweaking is done I'll post it all as I start the first grow.I just might custon build some cabs, boy look at the big head, Peace

I'm assuming those aren't YOUR pics - could be easy to identify the house.

Anyway, you have made a killer grow box! I love the cherry wood - very classy. That heat problem is a concern for all of us. Any chance of running a duct line from your A/C unit or A/C vent to the grow box?

Hey everybody, heremenow thanks for the congrat. No the pixs are the wrong ones. Those pixs are of a house in tenn. that got busted about 1999 I think.but what a operation. The heat problem I think will disapper after I get it moved into the house. The house is centeral air at 70 degree all the time. The high temps are from being in the garage,no ac out there. But if they are still to high yes I can run a vent to them.I'll figure up the cost of the cabs lumber and hardware cost today and post it.Now if my growing comes out as good as the finished cab dose,Then I'll be happyer than two peckered billy goat in a feild full of nannys{female goats}!!!! I love working with wood,I guess thats why I'am carpenter/woodworker.Thanks again for all the comps, this a great site. PEACE
