Can a 630 watt CMH match a 1000 watt HPS?

You should be wearing eye protection with ANY MH/HPS lamp in use in close proximity. Even a 250 watt fixture can burn your retinas completely out with constant exposure at 2 to 3 foot ranges.
I know and I had to learn the hard way I nearly lost both my eye sight because of it, I was lucky the keratoconus stopped in one of my eyes but I had to have a corneal transplant I’m my right eye I still have 16 stitches in my eye to prove it lol, always ware protective glasses people!

I was so looking forward to purchasing some of these 1000 watt de CMH fixtures … it's always something …

Is anyone speculating when the new 1000 watt CMH bulb will be made stable ?

Does this instability of the CMH bulb apply to the 630 watt de CMH bulb as well ?

The DE 1000w CMH might be ok it is just untested for a long period of time unlike the DE 630w which is ok and stable because people have been using them for a long period of time, you could buy a 1000w DECMH and it will be fine and the bulb could last 10,000 hours as rated like the DE 630W but because it is untested for a long period of time it is possible it could fail, in theory it is ok but some manufacturers say it is unstable but some manufacturers say It is stable lol,my DE 1000W CMH is fine and has been for 2 months now, the DE 630w are stable and perfect for a 4’x4’ area,

How big of an area for a 1000 watt de CMH if the 630 watt de CMH does a 4' x 4' ?
It would be around the same as a gavita DE 1000w HPS I would imagine, In a 5’x5’ would be very intense, but believe me they are exstreamly bright! Just take a look at the spectrum and the CRI...

I have a Gavita pro E series DE1000w that has been displayed in a shop for 6 months and a brand new DE CMH / LEC 1000w, I will sell these two light fixtures to anyone for $700 if they would like to document the grow so we can all get to see who will produce the best, the Gavita 1000 or the CMH Lec 1000, and I will throw in a brandnew DE 1000w gavita Bulb lol, who will take the challenge on?

I am hoping the de 630 watt CMH is the cats meow.

Some people are saying that it's better to do 2 x 315 CMH in a fixture, is there that much of a difference between the two set ups ?

From what I can tell the biggest difference is that with the original Philips 315 they last twice as long so that's definitely a big deal.

other than life of the bulb, do the DE bulbs stack up to the Phillips bulb ?
Again, I don't have any direct personal experience, but from what I've seen as far as spectrum and output they are the shit. When I get to it I plan to put a few Growers Choice 630's in AC/DE hoods with the Growers Choice 630 square wave ballasts.
