Hi,
I'm looking at buying some hygrometers to help me get the best possible cure for my harvests. I have multiple jars, so I'll most likely purchase multiple hygrometers to make things easy. I'm obviously not interested in buying multiple items if they are likely to end up being basically useless, so I'm hoping I can find the best hygrometers that I can afford.
Was looking to go digital, beings they aren't that much more expensive, but I'm worried about possible contamination from the pvc plastic and I don't like the idea of a button battery being sealed air-tight with my buds for days at a time. I realize I may be going overboard with my concerns here, but it really is effecting my decision. Especially after I read a customer review who received their digital hygrometer with a leaking battery, which is rare, but obviously not something anybody wants.
If they are basically made to go inside of humidors with cigars then I don't see why sealing them in with dried flowers would be an issue, but then again I just don't like the idea of pvc plastic touching my buds.
Maybe I can place a smaller diameter lid (just so that it fits inside) on top of my curing buds in the jar, then put the hygrometer on top of that, I suppose that would eliminate the contact. Or I guess you could put anything on top of the buds so there is no direct contact, doesn't have to be a lid.
A lot of the cheaper, if not every single digital hygrometer in existence is made in China, and I would assume that each company/model/brand of hygrometer has varying levels of possible contaminants/chemicals?
