Can Air-Purifiers Harm You If The Grow Room Is Next Door To Someone's Bedroom?

Sorry, it just doesn't sound right to me. If I were you I'd check google. If you can't find anything then i'd say it would be safe to assume they are harmless.

Well spotted Widow. I'm glad you pointed it out because I didn't know that myself. I just thought ozone was ozone.

Ozone is used to get rid of the smell. But why? I know it's a bit of a cliche but a friend's uncle uses this stuff. Do you need special equipment to go into the room or do you just turn it off first?

Is ozone better than carbon?

Uses the Rollitup profile
Ozone is O3, which means 3 atoms of oxygen. The oxygen in the air is O2. So the O3 sheds an atom and joins the other O2s. That lone O will attach to other stuff and oxidize it. Not just attach to it and make it heavier than air like a negative ion, it will extinguish it from the air. Like make it go poof.

You can breathe elevated concentrations of it for about 10-15 minutes, and then you get a headache.

HTH

Its used as a disinfectant. Like Sir said. If you go in a room with it on your eyes will start to burn and it can burn your lungs pretty bad. The good thing is it only has a 15 minute half-life. So if you set it on a timer or something and turn it off, you can wait 15 minutes and you would never know it was there.

The best way to use an ozone generator is with a charcoal canaster/ carbon scrubber whatever. You set up the canister in the room (middle ish) and connect the exhaust hose leading to the attic. Once in the attic you take a big rubbermaid box (any nice size box will work) and connect the exhaust hose to one end of the box. Thats called a tumble box. Connect another 25 feet of hose to the other end and try to take it to the exhaust fan on the roof. You know the little thing that spins when the wind blows. :)

Another good thing about ozone is if you do put it in your grow room then it supposed to kill all your pest. You will have to get a pretty big one if you dont have a charcoal canister. Even then you will probably still smell some traces. The best and safest way is the way I described above.

Is there some sort of guidance as to how much O3 you pump into a grow room?

Especially with it's 15 minute half life. What I mean is that after 15 minutes it's going to be half as strong, then half as strong as that 15 minutes later. It sounds serious stuff. The grow space would need to be completely sealed from the living space. Definitely not for us amateurs.

No it all dissipates in 15 minutes. Its pretty cool shit.

I used to install coca-cola's networks and they would have signs all over the place to not drink the bottled water for 48 hours. That conflicts with the 15 min half life theory. Maybe since its compressed and sealed it last longer, I dont know. Could just be a safety thing. Anyways back to my story. I talked to the lab guy that test the sodas and what not. He told me that if I drank the fresh water I would puke and shit myself before I got to the door 10 feet away. lol. I wanted to try it out on someone but I wasnt mad enough at anyone.
