can i grow in saltwater marshes, that seems to be the safest place
there along the sound
I vote no. The last time I stuck a PH meter into land like this, the PH was under 4.0, and plants won't like that one bit. You can get a cheap PH meter and try this yourself.

If you took a different course and either bagged or potted the plants, I still think the salt coming off the water would post a threat to your plants. I see papery or brown leaves in your future. And this is just an educated guess--I have never tried this.

you wont even get to the point where your leaves will turn brown... because they wont grow ;)

now if you were to build a raised bed of soil with a liner... who knows
