Obama campaigned on a populist Democratic message. As soon as he won, he shifted to traditional establishment Democratic policies. That's why we got the individual mandate instead of single payer when we had a super majority in the Senate, why Marijuana wasn't rescheduled the entire 8 years, why Guantanamo Bay wasn't closed, and why NSA spying, "defensive" interventions and drone strikes all increased under Obama.. "the progressive"..
