I am wondering this too, can you just cook with hash instead of buds? You will get a lot less plant matter and more THC matter by doing so.

Try using Canna butter, taste is barely noticable, and it is as potent as u wish to make ur butter.. I used alot of fan leaves n water bud to make mine.. Started with 1kg of butter n simmered it down til it was 500grams. I use bout 100grams per set of cookies n its awesome shit.
Throwing bud in is pretty ordinary, plant matter, taste etc..
To answer ur question u can jst throw it in, but y waste the good stuff??

melt your hash into oil or butter over low heat. You can freeze the hash then grate it to make it fine enough to dissolve easily. just use the smallest amount of butter or oil possible. then constitute that it into the amount of whatever needed for the recipe. i'd just make like 5 cookies with a half gram of hash in each cookie, prob be like 2-3 tbl of butter total is my guess. If you have a hard time disolving the hash, try a bit of everclear or alc of strong nature.

by the way i'm an edible maker of 15 yrs.

@ ninja:
i only use hash or concentrates to make edibles. Even if i have a lb of leaf i turn it into a nice clean and purged butaned hash (dry like sand), or bubble hash aka h20 extract. So much more precise in knowing how much thc you've extracted or if you did extract any from the leaf. Makes dosing very easy and consistant. Leaf in butter will have you guessing strength, and wondering if anything even extracted at all. hahaha Plus it's pure and has no leafy herby taste when you use hash or oil or kief or some concentrate.
