Can I Veg with either of these lights?

These are led flouresent
I also have 120-277v 4 bulb T8 will those work better (can post pics if needed)? The leds look at least twice as bright tho! both types are commercial grade lighting fixtures left over at a job site I'm working at.
I'm just trying to find a substitute for my 600w Mh in veg will either of these work. If so which one should I use for my veg table?

Mornin Ohm-boy!
Kind of hard to decipher those stickers sometimes... So it's a T8, assuming that sticker is on the fixture, How long are the bulbs and how many bulbs are in the fixture you posted the pic of? or are those just retrofit bulbs? if they're retrofit bulbs (retrofit are the leds made to fit into fluorescent sockets) then you need to figure out if they're plug n play retrofit bulbs or Ballast bypass retrofit bulbs. You don't want to plug the wrong kind into the wrong fixture... as with most electrical appliances, goof ups can be dangerous, painful, and expensive! Although nowdays there are lots of "safety devices" built into circuitry, still, better safe than toasty!

I personally would go with LED retrofit instead of the usual T8 fluoro bulbs.

Those would work ok to start. I vegged with an overdriven (double ballasts) 4 tube t8 fluro for my first couple years. They'll only be good for the first few weeks, or to about 12", then you should get something a little more powerful. I started using it for maintaining moms, works good for that.

They are retrofit led, bulbs are 4 ft long, 4 bulbs per each fixture. There isn't a ballast in them. So I guess bypass??? Also the bulbs came with the fixture so they gotta be the right kind. Can i just wire them up to a plug and plug them in like I can the 120-270v t8 florescent?

Damn. Only till 12" shit...
I need to be able to fill a 4x8 scrog with 8 plants on two months of veg. So the florescents are out of the picture then huh?

If you go to the spec sheet, it'll break down the part number.

If you could stack 4 of those fixtures side by side over a scrog, it could work. You don't need much penetration in a true scrog and it sounds like you have time to veg. Go to HID lights for flower.

That's the plan I got 4 of them for the table. Im thinking about investing some money in 2 1000w Double ended air cooled lights in the 4x8 veg tent over 3 600w air cooled.
or maybe 2 600w DE and one regular 600w in the middle all air cooled cause I'm on a 20amp breaker. I also found out the led lights are 120-270 volt just like the T8, so I can just make a plug and plug them in SWEET.

Also I've only ever used general hydro. I tried the Lucas formula last time and didn't really like it. What brand do you use.

I'd really suggests looking into building a COB setup for flowering. I don't know enough about them to give an educated opinion, but they seem like the way to go. If using HIDs, I'd do a AC 1000 over each half of that tent, as long as your willing to do what's needed to control heat.

On a 20A circuit.. maybe a DE 600 over each half so you don't overload the circuit.

I've used AN Connoisseur and Botanicare Pure Blend Pro in hydro, both worked, but i want to try Botanicares CNS17 line next time I run hydro. All nutes will have a learning curve to figure out if there are complete or if you need to supplement. Right now I'm in soil with organics, I needed a break from tending hydro.

I'd love to do COB but that shit costs about $1 per watt. I'll probably go led in about 2years once my money is tight. I've heard bad things about AN but I'd be willing to try bontiare next run what intrests you about the cns17?

It looks like a better NPK ratio better than PBP. I always thought PBP was a little light on N.

that is a good question. as a rough guess, i'd say 240 cob watts is about 400 hps watts.

my last grow was one 240w cob with a 315 lec in a 3x4. i think i'm gonna go both 240 w cobs this go round in the same space.

speaking of lec, have you thought about using one for veg? i have the 4200k bulb and it's a great veg light. does pretty good in bloom too.

Yes I have but light emitting ceramic is about $600 for 1 1000w. But that cob is worth it if it can match a 400w. But I'd wanna use about 8-10 of em in a 4x8 that'd be nice

wow, that is expensive for a LEC. you in the UK?

i lucked out about 3 years ago and found a guy that was selling a kit: philips LEC ballast and bulb for 200 shipped. had a reflector already on hand so just had to wire it up.

the longer you wait, the cheaper cobs are getting especially if you don't need the latest and greatest model/ bin.

no smoking yet here. coffee first and then gotta drive the kid to school. then it's on!

Hopefully they'll get lower this upcoming year.
And thank God I don't got chillren I can roll over n hit a bowl before I even open my eyes. I need it tho cause I'm NOT a morning person (sober anyways) lol

I got a Roleadro 400w COB on amazon for a bill, so about $0.25 a watt. It worked well with my test plant I ran with it.
