Can you prevent hermies from showing up with planned pollination

Plants that are more prone to herm do so to give them selves a last chance shot at getting pollinated to reproduce. Is that right? Hence why when a plant is stressed it is more likely to herm? Like when making fem seeds and using a stresful light cycle. So in theory, could you hand pollenate a branch on your plant, or even a bud to keep it from kicking in its herm mode? I specifically am talking about when growing a pheno of a plant that you like, but that is also kind of hermie prone. Im looking at you girl scout cookies! lol

This is something I've actually thought about quite a bit. This exact theory actually.
Never had a problem with Herman though personally. But I go into my grows like serious business. My old partner had some nanners pop out on some trainwreck (indoor) but I'm 99% sure it was user error.
But he was prone to screwing off in his grow room while being fucked up.
I've considered this when thinking about "hermie prone" genetics.

but there are plenty of others that will throw up male parts just as quick as the pistils show

A zebra can't change it's spots! No I would assume even if you did pollinate say one branch the rest of the plant will probably hermie in its normal spot anyway. I think this would only work if you did the whole plant or say at least 50% . You can't be half pregnant!

Very interesting... I think that pollinating one branch may prevent a female plant from turning hermaphrodite due to TIME and GENETICS. --- But I think that a female plant turning hermaphrodite due to STRESS, is unavoidable.

yea I think that after reading some of this im going to go with what mrcrnc429 said. if its going to herm under stress at all its going to do it no matter what.

that's not a spotted zebra... it's obviously a horse-dalmation ; cause, those happen in nature right?

Iv read posts over on opengrow ..a member growing sannies extrema and had a killer pheno that herms late in flower giving a fare few seeds ...when he grow out clones from it...he selectively pollenated 2 lower branches and it stoped the rest of the plant from hermieing...makes sensce if you think of it ...and he got fem seeds ...a new cross..for his troubles...scarecrow77
