can you reveg an autoflowering plant after harvest?

My friend gave me a couple of clones he said were love potion #9, and they were growing nice, when i noticed hairs starting to come out after about a month. i just kind of went, hmm, and moved them closer to the light. when they kept coming and got thicker, i realized this had to be an autoflowering strain. i moved them into the flowering area and overnight they started flowering. one was ready, with mostly milky and about 5% amber trichs in one month. the quality was great, but they were both a little small, because i kind of held them back almost 2 weeks they should have been in the hps. the other one will be ready in about a week, and since i was caught by surprise, i'd like to be able to try again, with a better idea of whats going on this time. my friend obviously can't keep his labels straight, so i really don't have any idea what strain this is, but i like it, it smells phenomenal, like honey and pepper, and i'd like to reveg this plant and take about a half dozen cuttings off of it. anyone have a clue what strain this is, or any experience revegging an autoflower?100_1573.JPG 100_1574.JPG 100_1575.JPG
unfortunately i dont have a smart phone to send trich pics, but i do have a 60X lighted jewelers loupe, and in this pic they're about 20% clear, 75% cloudy, and just a few amber. if this plant follows her sister, within a week it'll be ready.

thats odd, he must have completely mislabeled his cups, i haven't spoken to him since he gave me these, he told me they were clones, but they obviously can't be clones if you can't clone an autoflower. wonder what he was thinking when the two he thought we autos just sat there not flowering?....

thanks for the quick replies

you can clone an autoflower, it just has the timer of the parent, also if you had to put it into a 12/12 flower room to get full flowering (not just lots of hair/pre flowers, I think thats what you mean in the OP) its probably not an auto

You can reveg an auto after its cut back if you only harvest the buds and leave the plant. It'll sprout new growth through the leftover bud zones but will need to be photo changed later and shouldn't automatically bounce inti a second flower. Alot of people have said against this btw but I've seen it done. The guy made a youtube video where he had an auto in a PC stealthy box and did the whole Bud Only harvest method. His plant regrew to his suprise after an awkward wait. I've cloned some and they responded to photoperiod change. I recorded here on a thread called "any1 want to grow an auto with me". I think it's in page 24 or so. It's not too detailed but if i look back in some stuff iv done i may have better pics.

Anyway be careful when you harvest that you don't maul the girly. I have a blue dream from HSO that is showing new grow that i DID maul and the new growth is all thw way at the main stalk right above the soil line. Ill snap a pic soon. Im pooing right now haha

imo/= is avoid this.... as autos are on a clock, many unstable 'commercial' strains may well succeed

but generally its all over once the trics show ...however

there's some tricks like applying some sts or colloidal silver to a flower to turn it male so you can harvest (female?) seeds

or better keep her alive as long as you can ..expecting a bud to herm to apply the same method

good luck

i'm going to try it. if its not an autoflowering strain, it has a very early flower time and a very strong desire to flower., they were supposed to be 2 weeks old when i got them, and started trying to flower, growing little micro buds and lots of hairs, about 2 weeks after that,. i diddled around another week and stuck them in the flower room when they kept trying to do the same thing on an 18/6 schedule. the day after they hit 12/12 they started flowering for real. if thats not an auto, its close enough for me. i'll let you all know what happens in about 3 weeks, one till i pull the buds off, a couple after that to see if anything grows at all.

id like to know how long you can let an auto flower before you have to harvest.......

i dont have a magnifying glass and my jack herrer auto is covered in frost and orange hairs and smells dank as fuck but its only 1.5 months old so i should let it go at least another 2 or 3 weeks right?

got a smart phone? try the zoom function on your camera. i have a 60 X lighted jewelers loupe and it works great. if you just flatly don't have a magnifier, then when most of the hairs have kinked up tight and the buds seem nice and tight. not really a good way to tell, but if its all you got, go with it.

I've noticed a few people who wait until the fan leaves and almost everything that isn't frosty turn yellow.

I've taken apart a busted cd drive for the lens and taped it gently against a cellphone camera. Diy dgital microscope

What happens when you just leave an auto flowering long term? This quote from the Hash, Marijuana and Hemp Museum site seems to suggest that it might be able to keep packing on flowers for months longer than photoperiod plants. What happens if you cut off much of the bud and leave the plant growing? Does it fill back out? I never grew them so I don't know. Seemed costly having to use seeds every time.

"Cannabis Ruderalis will begin flowering when it achieves a certain stage of maturity - normally after about five to seven weeks of growth. Once Cannabis Ruderalis has begun flowering, it continues to do so until other environmental factors (most notably winter) cause the plant to die. The other varieties of cannabis may expire naturally once they have accomplished reproduction."

Automatic Sour diesel breeded by Humboldt seed org.

The cutting, to no surprise, continued it's life of flowering, produced bananas, and new vegetative growth simultaneously. I'll let the banana grow a bit more and save it. Once it's ripe I'll cut back the flower some as well.

I did remove some flowering sites upon cutting.

Look how much resin it got on it though.

i guess this wasn't an autoflower, as they die and this hasn't, but it sure acted like one, basically growing a ton of white hairs all over and little micro buds while under 18 hours of light a day. i guess it just had a strong drive. starting to get some new growth that actually looks like new growth and not like fucked up little buds.100_1658.JPG 100_1659.JPG
i'll be very pleased to get a couple of good cuttings off of this, it was some good shit.

been interesting watching the process, went from 7 fingered leaves down to one, and now its gotten back up to 3. when it starts producing 5 fingered leaves again, i'm going to take as many cuttings as i can off of it and keep the two best ones. this was an awesome plant, not a huge yield, but it was good, and it flowered fully in less than 2 months100_1748.JPG 100_1749.JPG
i have a few feminized auto seeds coming, and i plan to experiment with one of them, to see how long i can keep it flowering, i'll either update that here or make a new thread for it
