If its a 400w air cooled hps, you can get it much closer then 3 ft. Flora nutes are pretty legit, and ph kit is deffently going to help you.

Yeah you can start flowering now. Keep us updated = )
Cool...Thanks jackinthebox. I will post some pics of the upgraded set up and I will keep you posted. I started 12/12 last night.

OK so I figured since I went ahead and got the good light, why not get a tray that will let me flower more than 2 plants; unlike like the Aerogarden. So last night I got a 3 x 3 tray, 20 gallon reservoir, water & air pumps, rockwool, and all the basics to get started. The guy from the hydroponics supple store where I got everything gave me a brief rundown on what I need to do to get started. After about 5 hours of set up time, I'm up and running. I took some pics with my phone this morning before I left for work but I forgot my phone so I'll upload them tonight. Opinions are greatly appreciated.

It's amazing how quickly my Aerogarden went from my entire operation into my germination & seedling setup...lol

When it comes to feeding, I was told to turn the pump on twice a day in 15 minutes increments while flowering. Is that correct?

Thanks...

All righty, here are two pics of my new operation. Total cost for the light, ballast, bulb, 20 gallon reservior, 3 x 3 tray the plants sit in (whatever it's called), air pump, water pump, fan, duct work, rockwool cubes, airstone, nutrients, fittings, hoses and everything else I can't think of was right at $800. I'm getting a charcoal filter on my way home from work which is $100 so that puts me at $900 and I'm going to Home Depot later tonight to get a window unit air conditioner so that will put me at $1,100 if you count that.

Also if you notice in the pics, the exhaust on the other side of the light isn't plumbed yet. I just need to cut the hole in the ceiling but I might not even do that since I'm getting the A/C (I know It's best to run the exhaust into the attic so the air is well circulated but I have a wife to deal with and last night she wasn't to thrilled with the idea of me cutting a hole in the ceiling, especially after seeing the amount of shit I bought). I'll leave the fan hooked up either way to keep the bulb cool.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated...Thanks

Couldn't get the A/C last night...seasonal item. So I'm cutting the hole in the ceiling tonight or tomorrow night to run my exhaust into the attic. Also, when I was picking up my charcoal filter yesterday, I went ahead and got a Co2 "boost Bucket" and a roll of mylar. A bunch of people have told me the boost bucket works great and it was only $130. I was going to get a 20lb Co2 bottle and a valve for $250 but then I have to spend $20 every week or 2 for refills. We'll see how it works...

how long did u take tha seeds to pop up
They took 2 days to sprout but they were originally started in my Aerogarden. I transplanted the 6 in the picture into rockwool after I built my new set-up.

I attached a pic of my set-up (sorry it's so blurry, cell phone pic). I finally ran my light exhaust to my attic (I was able to use the hole from my ceiling fan). I also ran the line for my Co2, it's hanging directly under the light. And I finally hung some mylar, I'm going to build two panels covered in mylar for the two sides of the tray that aren't against the wall.

I was wondering if it was ever established how long the pump should be running while flowering...I've been running mine 12 hours a day while the lights are on, its only been three days but plant seems to be responding well, but it may be from the new bloom nutes
