Higher heat = lower RH, as you drop your temps, RH goes up. Drop them too low and you're fighting potentially negative RH levels and chasing environment issues.
Just observationally, in my grow when temps rise so does humidity. We just had a big negative temp swing here in Ontario to colder air and the tent went from 26 C 58% to 22 C 45%. I know there is a bit of a myth around warm air holding more moisture, dew point etc. But honestly I have never seen my temps go down and humidity up. Of course it could be my particular environment. dunno, just saying.

That has to have something to do with other factors, possibly your heat (HVAC) kicking in dropping the overall RH at the source or the like. This time of year and spring can have large swings in both temps and RH as HVAC systems kick in or shut down. I have used WiFi temp/RH monitors for years. They provide me with a realtime view of my spaces and I can download 2 weeks worth of data at any time, in 15 minute increments. I use them to easily dial in spaces as I have multiple rooms/tents on the go at different times, for different purposes. That data clearly shows that as your temps go up RH goes down, and vice-versa, e.g. and easy way to see this is as soon as your lights go out, your RH spikes. Of course there are factors affecting temps and RH, like in my flower room, the room's capacity is about 30 gallons of soil before I have to crank my exhaust up further to maintain RH levels where I want them. When I'm running close to 40 gal of medium like right now I have to adjust my intake and exhaust to suit or my RH spikes.

no hvac, but yes I have seen RH spikes at lights out, I was thinking about getting one of those Sonoff wifi units with the temp/RH sensors. Dont know if it logs data, but would assume so. What do you use?

If it gets cooler out, lower your amperage and drop your lights down to keep your canopy at optimal temps. Strips are fine in any condition, you just have to be resourceful.

I've seen those recently and will be playing with them but haven't tried the Sonoff units (yet). These are cheap and provide a lot of functionality for the price. I have one base unit and 4 sensors, they can be easily moved around as well, sometimes I'll move it to a small breeding tent when the season's change to get a read then put it back in my veg tent. I've had the base units for 4.5 years with no problems so pretty reliable.

Hey dudes just gonna post the conclusion that i came to.

After spendign some time on the led gardener site as well this is what i've come up with! I'll try to post some pictures when i'm all done !

12 of the 4 foot bridgelux strips:
https://www.digikey.ca/product-detail/e ... ND/6236289

The HLG-600H-48A:
https://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Mea ... gcTA%3d%3d

for the aluminum i'm planning to use sliding door aluminum track because its what i can get easily and cheaply and has a profile that mimics a heat sink. Something like this:

https://www.google.ca/search?q=sliding+ ... iHiIS2t6LM:

Ill be getting these wago connectors that you recommended i should use:
https://www.amazon.ca/Wago-51043649-50P ... connectors

Plan as of now is to make this into a 4x3 frame with 2 inches between each strip.

Still don't know exactly what im going to be using for wire but i plan to source and price that once ive got everything else set up so i can do it directly to the build

Once again i'll be using this for a 4x4 set up and hopefully this can help someone in the future trying to do something similar

What benefit would that offer anyone over just buying it straight from HLG?

That's how simple it is. I'm actually building the same thing except I'm using 2 of the 320w HLG's and making 2 seperate fixtures so that I can use them in a 2'x4', 4'x4' or make more to fill a 4'x6' or 4'x8'. It's also a bit easier wiring constant current and you don't have the risk of thermal runaway. Anyway, good luck and thanks for passing on the info for others. Maybe we'll see pics too.

This whole thread is about being able to buy things in Canada. So the same benefits as anything else you would buy here instead of importing from another country. Pricing I am not sure of, but quicker shipping times, cheaper shipping, no duties (obviously something will be included in the cost, but prob less than if you imported it yourself). Also if you have a problem, you're dealing with someone in Canada and things can be rectified cheaper and faster. Also, it looks like Nafta will be going away, so its going to get more expensive to move things over the border.

You're obviously an intelligent guy, I don't really see why I would need to spell this stuff out :)

O i didn't realize the hlg i selected was any different from the other ones i looked at. been meaning to do more research into constant and see whats up.

does he already have some kind of website other than the youtube or will his first website be the one planning to sell hlg products? and is this for sure or speculation?

http://www.grandmasterlevel.com/ has the first 3 seasons (youtube seems to delete his stuff every so often)

In the latest episode he and @Stephenj37826 talk about how he has already received 1 shipment of product and that the next one is on its way. GML goes on to say that he has secured the url he wanted and that the website will be up in the next week or so.

You sound equally intelligent and certainly intelligent enough to realize that the duty will be included in the price he sells them for, shipping charges will be as much or more than from HLG and shipping times may or may not be equal depending on where you live. We will likely pay more from GML and shipping the product back will be every bit as expensive. You'll also notice our dollar has been gaining on the usd which makes buying things across the border a bit more attractive.

My original question was a bit rhetorical. There are almost no products in Canada, period, that are cheaper to buy here than they are to order from the USA, even after duties etc. Especially anything electronics related.

I don't know about you but I pay way more to have most things shipped from Ontario to BC than I do from the USA. Warranty from HLG is golden, regardless of where you live and I'm sure for many it will not be cheaper or faster having the seller in Canada. Guess that depends on where GML is based.

I've bought from Robin several times and always got great service. Now that I think of it, I priced out 8 SST120 pin sinks in Canada and it was cheaper getting them from HLG even with duty and any other associated costs.

Then I suggest you have a chat with Stephen & Robin about their shoddy business plan.

i am planning to have 320 w and 600 w led grids in Canada at least when legalization happens
with either heat sinks, active fan cooling or just DIY
the rigs grow/flower extremely well and i can offer very good prices on gear i personally as a grower believe in
i wanted wait until i was able to see the results
i also treat people the way i would like to be treated

that said: all the best to the big boys!

Why would you assume that having resellers is a shoddy business plan for Robin and Stephen? That's an odd way of looking at it.
I don't. You seem to think it doesn't make much sense for them to have Canadian resellers though.

Anyway I don't know why you're debating with me. You should be arguing these points with HLG. I don't even own any of their products :)

I think it's great that they have resellers. What could have possibly made you think otherwise? Having resellers exposes their product to more people which in turn makes them more money. Sounds like an awesome business plan to me.

But that doesn't mean Canadians will get a better deal just because there's a reseller here. Just as a side note, the majority of Canadians live only a short drive to a border. I can have anything from HLG shipped to a post office for free, just as many people do.
