Canadian MMJ Card Options

I'm looking up info for obtaining the card. You can ask your family doc, most cases you will be denied, so now what?

So far I've found a few websites that offer help finding a doctor, usually online via skype. Does the actual license always cost $400 ?

I've found: www.medicalmarihuana.ca/ - www.medme.ca - www.easyaccess.info and some others.

My understanding, all the options except for easyaccess get you your doc and card for 400+. I've looked at easyaccess and it says, "Medical License from Health Canada
Easy to Follow Instruction Kit $199." Is this just an ebook on info that can easily find on the internet or do they actually provide with a doctor as well?

Thank you in advance. I'm trying to find the most reasonable price for the license. If needed I can pay 400 but I would rather explore all the options first.

I am very interested in this also. I live in a small town with old school doctors, I was looked at as a crackhead for asking about medical marijuana. But on the same breath they will give you a prescription for oxy's! It blows my mind. I am definately not going to get a signature here...

Canada use to be known to be one of the best cannabis open minded countries. Now reading the news it looks like our brothers and sisters down below have it easier (in some States of course). Check those sites, I'll keep googling in the meantime. I wasn't trying to be cheap but $400.00 isn't pocket change to everyone. :P

Yeah OP,
I was basically in the same boat as you: living in a small town with ass backwards doctors who are more focused on retiring then keeping their patients healthy and happy.
I went through a website that got me hooked up to do no harm clinic in kelowna BC. I think I've already wrote this down here, so i'll double check after I post.
But to answer your question: Yes, pay the 400 dollars and you get your recommendation. Since you're paying for what should be normally GIVEN to you, I would suggest asking for a higher gram per day ratio if its too low.

Edit: Seems you already found my other post, OP. I'm not sure about the 2 other sites you gave, but MedicalMarijuana.ca/medicalmarihuana.ca are legit.
But yeah, they always charge $400 for a license. My recommendation would to apply to be your own grower, I believe its the same price.
I got them to hook me up with a designated grower and they locked me in for a year or two. I wanted to grow for myself this year and they said wait till next year because I would be leaving my grower hanging and they'd have to find another patient for him.
Honestly I could of said fuck that and pushed, but my grower is a nice guy so I just shrugged it off. $5/gram for the best weed ever is alright

Fuck MM.ca... they're unprofessional.

They gave up on looking for a DG for my wife simply because she wasn't applying for a DG at the same time as her MMJ license.

They charge their growers too much to take on patients and, in-turn, this leads to growers rejecting clients because they contract the patients for 1 year (full license term).

What do you mean? Should I still follow through with the license than if its going to be changed? I'm about to hand my 400 dollars over...

They've been trying to change the system for awhile now. I believe in july or something was the deadline for the government to fix their shit or it becomes legal. Of course the government got an extension, so I wouldn't be holding your breath and saying its going to change 'soon', because it honestly wont. I'd be willing to bet it wont change until at least august, if not 2013.

If i were you Xoshua, I would just go for it anyways. I'm in the middle of renewing my shit right now with the same place. I figure that if they do change the system while I've got my prescription, there will be some sort of juggling going on; like the cannabis tax stamps the federal government did in the US quite awhile ago.

Ended up paying the 400 for everything, I filled out the paperwork excluding the doctor part by myself so I saved money. If I didn't sign anything myself I'd be paying an extra 60-80.

That's steep.

The paperwork is simple and they're taking advantage of the system while they still can as one of the proposed changes is to have your regular doctor control the "recomendation" kind of like they do in California.

MedicalMarijuana.ca screw the growers, too... apparently they charge $500/gram to get a patient. As in, for every gram a patient is allowed you have to pay $500 to MM.ca rather than a flat rate per patient.

Hey Xoshua, too bad I didnt find this post earlier. I used a company out of BC called the donoharm clinic, I too like you could not find a doc to sign and Ive heard about all the nightmares about paperwork being sent back due to improperly filling them out. I paid 400 bones and all the paperwork was filled and sent by them.

I had my license in 9 weeks no problems. I do recommend that with any of these companies that you apply for everything even if you dont plan on growing its nice to have because you are allowed storage which you dont have without the grow permit.

As for medicalmarajuana.ca I decided against them because they are affiliated with HC.. I have no info about them.

Good Luck keep us posted.

Unfortunately, because HC does not cover a Doctor visit related to MMJ, this cost would either need to come out of pocket for you or your doc, and lets face it, the doc ain't payin for it, but I agree that the prices are steep, considering I can go to one of my docs without my Health Card and only have to pay $40 to be seen.
