Surprising that this old tech. Is still more than the newer double ended bulbs. Going price for the DE bulbs are between $50 (China) and $80(German) picked up locally at a local retailer.

price in us is down at least 20% last 2 yr

What de bulbs are you referring too?

Hortilux is much cheaper if you get the commercial 12 pack and not the retail boxed ones. As for DE you get what you pay for still no substitute for Philips 1000W DE light and price wise. Gavita DE are like $20 wholesale more then Philips.

At least Gavita did just drop their prices on their systems but if you don't need 120V and Dimming/Controller the Agrolux is much cheaper.

There's also this bulbs but requires a 110K+ KHZ ballast to get the full power. AgroLux makes one now ALF 1000R that is 120KHz and its a remote ballast like a normal digital ballast. Its 120/240 dimmible

How do you like the de cmh ?
I as afraid to go that route as I could only find cheapo bulbs for it.

I have only had it for a couple of months,but I like it so far..got it from growlights.ca

I grabbed the 630w (2x 315w bulb) from them, I have been pretty impressed with it.

Ushio is German made but I have no feedback on that one. I wouldn't trust anything China craft. I can sell Philips 1000W DE Greenpower for $105+ tax and you can't go wrong with that bulb.
