Canna Coco Decent Grow Medium?

A member here had a great grow with some Royal Gold Basement Mix.

I can't get any of that around here, without paying 2x as much for shipment.

Will Canna Coco be a decent substitute? Will be using Megacrop for nutes.

Canna is straight coco with nothing else. I imagine the royal gold is mix of soils.

Coco will not perform the same as a mix but they both will give you good results if you teach them right. You'll have to research the two mediums to figure out which you'll like. Coco is great but nothing like soil. Basement mix is closer to fox farm's ocean forest soil or happy frog soilless mix.

I'd look into mixing some perlite in if it's straight coco. Never used straight coco, I use rg tupur, but read it compacts as the grow goes along, perlite would help that.
