Cannabis opium dip

Im wondering if any of our Poppie growers have tried a wash dip.

Something along the lines of a opium tea (wash) and dip a buds or a branch. Let dry and cure.

Kinda the same thing as the old thai sticks.

Has anyone tried it, how did it work out and how many poppies per Litre (or gallon) of water?

it's greatly inefficient to try unless you take what i speculate from experience to be around 6 plants and perform an extract. you'll yield enough for a bowl or two of opium which you will need to dissolve into only a tablespoon of water or so. then roll a bud in the tablespoon. just one bud. there's a reason why locally grown heroin is not a thing. it's just not a heavy yielding plant. i never cured weed in opium but have grown poppy and witnessed the amount of opium one pod will produce. for better numbers, do a google search on the percent yield opium and work some math out to the numbers you were hoping for. its likely around 1 or 2% dry mass alkaloid content in a potent plant. do an experiment for us? poppy grows a taproot which mean you should plant in a deep narrow container, so i f you use a 5 gal homer pail with holes in the bottom you can grow a few plants in that container and tie the bolting flowers down so to keep your lighting distance tight to the lower leaves. check out farmerfischers grow in the gardening section. he uses rather small containers and a low stress light changing technique. its pretty cool.

Thanks for ur reply.

From the Opium tea recipes ive seen, 3 to 5 pods is enough for a "tea". Maybe double or triple it for a dip??

Could i just dip buds in this, Kinda like a H2O2 bath but with opium water?

Im not interested in growing them or lancing them.

If you can find pods and whole harvest stalks and leaves then go for it. I would make a tea and evaporate it in a glass pyrex dish to observe your yield first. Take a hit of the product to make sure it is concentrated enough since tea will yield chlorophyll as well. When I think of tea I think of a cup of liquid at least, so you'll want it concentrated more than what you were recommending. If o recall, the alkaloids in poppy are heat sensitive and more prone to oxidizing as temps increase. So you'll want to do the entire extract on low heat and evaporate at room temp for 12 hours or so. If you dont want to try smoking the tar to test concentration just dip a finger in when its a dark viscous slug.

I would use around 20 pods if you can get a hold of that many so you have room to play

I didnt think of the chlorophyll... Cheers. I can put the tea in a glass jar in the sun for a few hrs.

The trouble with concentrating it down to a tar like substance is it will not coat a bud very well and may in fact run when heated.(like hash oil tends to do). Thats why i was thinking of a tea like dip. Just enough dosage to effect the high but not enough to overpower it or induce nausea.

The amount needed isnt to much of a problem (within reason).

Dont put it in the sun. There is a good chance it will, decompose. What I was suggesting with the sludge is only so you can taste it to determine your concentration. You can then dilute it slightly with a tablespoon or so of water. You can soak your bud in regular water to make so your alkaloid tea disperses into tthewet bud or use fresh buds all the same. Then dry it out again. But give your idea a shot, more than one way to skin a cat

I use to put a tiny bit of "opium" on my bowls and gradually there started to be more "opium" then bud and ultimately just "opium"...by opium I mean heroin...it's not a good road to go down just smoke the bud, trust me
