Can't get Seeds from last auto flower grow to germinate!???

Grew some auto flowers to seed, both m/f was auto flower of course. Three plants gave tons or perfect looking seeds. 2 months on, I can't get the seeds to germinate. I've tried all the "normal" germinating techniques and am currently trying cold stratification (which I know can take another 2 months sometimes). I've only gotten ONE seed to germinate, what are the big seed dealers doing to get their seed ready to germinate that I'm not?

P.S. I have grow a lot from seed and never had such a low germ rate, any help would be really appreciated. Thanks everyone!

i had problems with germinating lowryder originals and found it was better to just put them in the soil and wait for them to grow:peace:

The original seeds I got from the seed bank ALL germinated just around 24 hours, I've been trying these for two months, so it can't be the same problem. I think that I am clearly missing a "step" dealing with the seeds here, but can't imagine what it is. Do they need warmer temps., colder? more time in the refrigerator, what do they want from me? Thanks again all.

well i really hate to tell u this because i think this sucks myself and wouldnt do it myself because i simply use a papertowel with water
but have u considerwed chipping the seed with a small knife
i dont recomend this at all
im only saying it because its supposed to be a very good way to start those amazing touch seeds
if u do this it may work but like i said i personally think is bad idea
but if its ok by u yah
i have sdeen a few posts of this working well i just dont like the idea plus i keep the casing as a momento of my seed and i put in a plastic whap the i give it a name tage with a pic of it at stages of its entire life

did you try soaking them in a cup of water with 1 drop of hydrogen peroxide in a dark warm space?
this is a problem i see alot from people who tried to breed their own auto seeds, If they dont crack and sink to the bottom of the cup within 24-48 hrs try the carefully cracking the seed a bit idea, from what i understand its something to do with the thickness of the shell

hey dark have u used that method of cracking it
i never wanna use it sounds tragic
nope, but if he goes and tries everything else first(which he seems to have done) and it dont work that will be his last chance/option. It's far from ideal but its solved this problem in the past when ive seen others with it. Having this sort of problems w/ homemade autoflower seeds isnt as rare as you'd think. the term i used for it was appaling, lol, its not as bad as it sounds, you just take a razor blade and carefully do it. I should of explained it better but for some reason i just assumed he would know about the method i was talking about. lol. I'm not a expert on it like I said so i dont really know the step by step process to do so just that it usually works on tough seeds when i see people try it as a last resort. I'm looking for a good guide on google but im having pretty shitty luck finding a real good one so far. lol

i have done this twice now with perfect results. however eventhough all my seeds germ at a rate of 9 out of 10 i have noticed my seeds take up to 72 hours to get me a 1/4in tap root and they are way bigger than the joint doctor seeds . if your seeds are light in color they may not be done enough. i let them go until the calyx splits open and you can see the dark brown/black streaks. most of the time you have to let the bud live longer to make all of the seeds ripe . hope that helps

you need to properly dry the seeds out for a week or 2 - 3 after you picked them. i have seeds that have been dried out for a month still on the bud and they 100% germ !

Cheers

I've taken seeds right from a plant and planted them and have had 100% germ rates within a day or two and No need to wait that ive ever seen. its cool if you want to, but i dont see any reason to in my eyes.

yah its probly because its a looked down upon method i hate bringing it up because it seems unnatural u know
I just love it when people say this. I grow indoors, in a basement, under HID bulbs, with chlorinated water, chem ferts, C02 augmentation, in 5gallon buckets....ect ect. My point being that scratching the outside of a seed is not that big of a deal as far as being natural.

with autos i find it best to soak them for 6hrs or till they sink to the bottom then dirt them in a party cup bout 1 1/2 inch deep water them then take a 20 oz soda bottle cut off the bottom ant place it over the cup as a dome and come back tommorow most people say dont nute but if u dilute them enough get some great rapid results

Roll a piece of sandpaper into a tube place seed into the tube and shake for 2 minutes. The micro scratches help water absorb into the seed without the stress of cracking open the seed.
