Canuk white widow and bubble g

hey brother, thanks for the posts! I'm really looking forward to your smoke report. They look great! I'm looking for something that has that bubble gum smell to it for sure so I'm glad to hear it was there in the grow. I'm interested to hear if it's still there post cure!
I am very interested in something that's going to be especially flavourful, while still having a high that I like.

Not impressed at all with the white widow, low crystal count, unflavorful and not aromic at all. The high was a good sleeper but not fantastic. The bubble gum is very fruity and tasty, still not super happy with the airy buds but the quality makes up for it. The high is very uplifting, keeping this strain around a while

REALLY appreciate that feedback. I'm even more pumped to try this stuff now.

What kind of light are you flowering with? Looks like an HPS by the colour, how powerful is it?

They were under old 600w and 400w hps bulbs, the 600 actually burnt out last week so it was on its last leg and didnt put much light out for the wattage. So 1000w for the 55x55x84 tent. Just replaced the 600w and swapped the 400w for a fresh 600w setup. One eye hort super mh and one hilux super hps, so much brighter and siked for my next round!! I think 1200w is about the limit for my tent size wo co2. Anybody have any experience with co2?

Sweet baby Jesus! That's some serious power in there now. I think 1200 may even be TOO much for a space that size.

I'd bet you'll get far better results in the "airy" buds if you rerun that bubble g now. That's exactly the kind of reviews that you get from bulbs on their last legs. I made the switch to a DIY cob fixture and I LOVE it. My mars II was alright for 2 runs but the epistars started dying too fast so I salvaged the power supplies and hooked 4 up to some badass cobs and it's a whole new ball game!

I think you're right to add the CO2 at that wattage but I have no experience with that. I would definitely like to follow through the grow journal for the next run though!

Keep it Green!

I grew out a few canuk cookies. They were complete garbage took way longer to flower than stated ( usually seed companies are optimistic with this but it was like 3 weeks longer ) to grow sub par smoke and not much of it. I had three very similar phenos, all junk and none looked anything like the photo they use to sell them. I was pissed they took up space in my room that could have been used better.
If your looking for real fire try bodhi, gage green, top dawg, mota rebel ect..
If your after bubblegum try BOG seeds he does a lot of bubblegum type stuff, also some fire to be had.

I suppose the buds look similar to the photos but def not the quality i was hoping for in regards to the white widow, the bubble gum im ok with

Done vegging my Canuck run. Still hoping for at least enough potent med to last me till a good genetics harvest after this.

3x Canuk OG Kush - 100% Germination
3x Canuk Cookies - 100% Germination
3x King TUT - 100% Germination
1x Canuk White Widow (freebie). - 100% Germination

All 3 of the OG Kush are good, strong and good even canopy branching. 2 look similar 1 looks a little different.

2 of the Canuk Cookies look a bit similar, more indica but the 3rd one has been slow, didnt take well to a FIM and is the smallest in height. Leaves are massive and long fingered, not expecting too much from it, absolutely hates wind.

2 of the King Tuts are a bit "thin", good branching but they are having trouble standing up on their own. One looks a bit better and stronger.

The White Widow was the freebie and runt of them from germination. slow startup but by end of veg it had branched decently and came up even with the rest of the canopy.

Hoping growing skills helps get the best out of these.

I have possibly made a similar mistake and went with Canuck genetics for my "first" grow. I find the same thing with wind even in comparison to bag seed I've had half decent results with before could handle much more wind. I find th GDP from Canuck to be deformed from the one day I left the fan on it too long as well as another one of their C99's.

I wonder if any more experienced growers have much knowledge of Canuck or are they too new

I will post a pic of them for you tonight when the sun comes up. They are doing much better, certainly the OG Kush is doing great, others have some problems with deforming and such. Definitely not stabilized genes but with some TLC they are doing as good as they can be.

That Girl Scout i mentioned is also quite big now but it is vastly different than any of the other seeds or strains. massive fan leaves which hate the wind so its been either in the back away from direct wind or in the center . Also I want to mention something I havent seen before myself on this plant when I switched to 12/12. After a week it seemed to have topped the main stem on its own and pushed out 2 colas. Took a closer look where it did this and it also shot 3 fan leaves rather than the usual 2 per node, I guess this is the good kind of deformation? LOL

WW is doing good, height wise it caught up and I had to do some more LST on it but yield wont be so much.

Having similar results in veg need some serious tlc to keep them happy but they are growing better than any of my previous plants from bagseed. None of by Smart pots are taking the same amount of water and nutes so clearly each individual plant and not strain has its own needs.

I think that my Canuck Cookies may have the same kind of deformation. I will update this post when I get a better picture so we can compare. However I am still in veg stage

I recently grew Canuk Cheese, Skunk 1 and Auto Purple Kush. Purple Kush grew very well with great smell after cure but the smoke is lame..very lame. Cheese and Skunk were much more potent, great taste and smell and low maintenance grow. Germ. rate about 80% with Canuk so far.

I just started Canuk Trainwreck, Sour Kush and Green Crack side by side with Nirvana Maui and Sour Kush from dispensary. I guess I'll have a better comparison this time.

I'm newbie grower, Canuk is good to learn with but looking for great genetics next. Any suggestions on specific strains and their breeder?

Good question, just ordered a bunch from various breeders and will have to let you know. As for the wind i havent had any issues and i keep a strong oscillating fan on my plants, helps with pest control to a degree

Here they are at Day 21.

Blue - OG Kush. Bottom marker is just a great plant, grew nice with no problems, branched well and loved LST and FIM. It is ahead of all of the plants in the tent might be a 6-8 week.
Pink - Canuk Cookies
Red - King Tut. All of them had issues, mostly Mag. foliar epsom helped a ton during veg. Middle one is budding at a good 9 week pace. Top left is buding like a 11 week. still has not shot out preflower pistils (preflower is there) very small buds. The third bottom right is budding like a 10 week, foxtailing it looks like.
White - White Widow, smallish and looks like it will finish 7-8 weeks

20171203_005326.jpg

Here is a slower flowering Cookies pheno that looks like it will go 10 weeks vs 8 weeks for one of the others and 9 weeks for another. Just MASSIVE Fan leaves, this one when stretched to the tape measure is just shy of 12 inches. There are bigger but this was in the front and easy to get a pic of. I want to try pulling off one (or part of) dry and roll a joint. If good I might want to clone this one just to harvest leaves for canna cones LOL.

Lemme save you guys some work. Ive been growing for 15ish years and have tried all sorts of different seed companies.
Of the companies kingtitan mentioned Ive grown various strains from g13, seedsman, dna, royal queen, dinafem, and mephisto.
mephisto has probably the best autos your gonna find. the rest are all ok, good even. good germ rates, grow well, good bud ect. not great tho.
It took me a VERY long time to figure out why I could never get the quality and potency i was looking for. Could grow very good bud but it wasnt the yop shelf fire I was after. I tried all different kinds of grow methods ( hydro LED/cmh guy currently ) until i finally got ahold of some good seeds.

GENETICS ARE 90% OF THE BATTLE.
fire seeds grow fire weed.
you dont have to spend a fortune on seeds either there alot of good breeders that dont inflate thier prices even tho they could.
Remember there will be gentic diversity between phenos so your best bet is to grow out a pack or half pack of a strain at a time to find a good keeper pheno. I prefer regs over fem I believe there is more genetic potential in regs IMHO.
Here are some breeders that are reasonably priced and keepers in every pack. even the non keepers blow most seed companies out of the water, the keepers are straight fire.
Bodhi, strayfox, bigworm, doc dank, thugpug, jaws, seed junkies.
a little more pricey but also top shelf are In house genetics, symbiotic, gage green, sin city.
theres a ton more excellent breeders those are just what i have personal experience with.
you can find them at greatlakesgenetics, dc seed exchange, oregon seeds elite probly elsewhere but ive dealt with those 3 never had an issue. big fan of great lakes
