Carbon filter questions????

I bought this carbon filter http://htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=52531. It sucks air through the carbron filter like this air-->carbon filter---> fan. Is it ok if I run it air>>>>> Fan>>>> Carbon filter. The reason I want to do it this way is that I want have to have the carbon filter in my tent. Instead I can place the fan on the outside of my tent pulling air from the inside and push it through my carbon filter. Does this make sense?

Im pretty sure it will work, but know that some filters are non reversible. Htgsupply doesnt mention anything about its orientation so you'll probably be good. Did the filter come with any literature or manual of some sort?

How ever you hook it up you need Neg (-) Air Pressure in the tent.

so the easy way to do the is suck all air out only.

if you blow the air you will have Pos (+) Air Pressure

Hope this make sence, I may be to stoned to explane better. But in short to contoll oder and not worrie if the grow tent is air (smell) tigt then suck don't blow.

How is the filter gonna scrub the smell it the tent if your pushing air through the filter from outside the tent? pull air from tent, through the filter, out of the tent. You still have to let air in the tent if your taking it out. equal air pressure, just a little negative pressure is best. Negative pressure wont let the smell out before scrubbing.

Inside tent, filter -> hose -> suction side of fan -> fan -> blow side of fan -> hose -> vent.

it'll work (help) as long as the filter is obstructing the air stream at some point

Yea, i just recently did the same thing. Except I made a DIY filter for like 10 bucks. I could have mounted it inside my tent, but it was easier to just stick it outside. But this is just for my small veg tent (about 4 ft) with smaller CFM fans. For the big flower area, I use a high CFM fan with the filter inside the space. But for my small veg tent, having it right outside works just fine. After about 10 min of installing, I could tell it was working. Oderless ever since.
