Care to give my unexpected grow a look?

You know this one gifted clone is the beginning of a very fun and gratifying hobby.
yes! and it really couldn't have come at a better time, man. Since I started taking care of this little girl I've noticed a marked elevation in my mood. The possibility of being able to grow my own medicine and not deal with shady folks or shitty smoke is whats up. (side note for anyone caring to answer this silly question- but I can't "like" any comments- i imagine this has something to do with being a newb? )

I feel the same way about growing. I look forward to tending to the ladies each and every day. I needed another hobby other then fishing and this is by far my favourite hobby yet! I grow with organics now which is fun in itself. Prepping the soil you're going to grow your ladies in is a lot of fun!
Yeah since you are new you can't "like" a post unfortunately. I'm not sure when you are able to. I forget.

Yes! I have a worm farm so I have all the castings I need and I usually prefer mixing my own soil for stuff, makes me feel like a mad scientist muahhaa. I think ill be going 100% organic next round- silly me, I thought the FF was organic. I know hydroponics is where the industry is blowing up but I can't imagine not growing in soil. If you don't mind me asking, where did you learn, read up on growing all organically? I know I could just google it but there is so much info out there I'd rather just get a recco :)

Honestly, I learned from this website in the Organics section. I did a lot of reading and asked a lot of questions. Try this section, http://rollitup.org/f/organics.59/
I think I'm going to start my own worm bin too! You can never have too many EWC!

awesome, thank you! there are still so many parts of this site i've yet to get to. :) as far as worm farming, dooooo it! It is really simple to make your own for sure, I was going to make one but ended up taking over my old employers Can-O-Worms when they moved and I love it! It stays right in my kitchen- no smell at all. Having castings whenever you need them is great- plus I sort of feel like a mom to thousands of little guys lol

I just looked at unclejims worms but they don't ship to Canada. I'd want the red wigglers. Hopefully I can find a place in Ontario that sells them.

too true, I'm always hoping people are just being kind and informative- which is usually not the case. whatever I lack in technical knowledge or fancy equipment I probably make up for by just being in tune with my plants development. Are you growing in soil or hydro?
Don't get me wrong. In the long run it would be better off just to buy a good light from the get go. I only pain little over a 100 bucks for a 4 foot 8 bulb 432 watt t5. A 400 or 600 hid kit can be bought for less than 200.

For a first grow and to see if its going to work out the cfl will work just fine.

I got some 65 actual watt cfl here I got from the hardware store. They are about a foot long.

Look into the Wal-Mart brand led bulbs. They can be bought in 3500Kelvin and 5000 kelvin cheap now. The 9 year ones are about 10 bucks for 4 bulbs.

You pop the covers off. Or the par38 led spot light bulbs. Or Phillips led bulbs. They work good.

Here is some Wal-Mart ones I took the covers off of.

What a great idea! I have those in my utility closet right now! looks like I have a project :) Thanks. I know I will need to upgrade the lighting, if nothing else honestly I'm annoyed will all the wires, I'm just not sold on going full hps or cmh. I was heading into the hydro store to buy a t5 fixture before brodude outed himself a sale by forcing the $400 light down my throat.

I have bought 3 durolux brand t5 lights off amazon. A 4 foot 8 bulb, 4 foot 6 bulb and a 2 foot 6 bulb. They come with the bulbs and are affordable. One I've had for 3-4 years now with no problems.

Oh and you will be able to like posts after you make so many post. There are a few functions missing until you've been here a bit.

Yea I figured. Oh the woahs of newbdom...heh

A couple things...
1. That walmart LED light hack was mint- things are promising to be a lot less congested.
2. Those durolux lights are really reasonably priced and look to be exactly what I would have bought from the shop (I was looking at the 2ft for the size of my tent)

With the led bulb and cover removed you get a directional bulb. All the bulbs can be overhead.

The 2 ft t5 is not as powerful as the 4 ft but I think a 2 ft 8 bulb would do nice in there.

I don't know. Just throwing some options out there.

You could also get one of the diy led cob kits.
