Does anyone have any information on what will be required to become a commercial grower in Canada once the changes take place. There is a list of things provided on the link that Pharoah put up above, but all of those conditions seem relatively easy to meet to me. They are:

  • Dried Marihuana Production, Distribution and Disposition
    • indoor production in a non-residential area;
    • physical security standards;
    • product quality standards;
    • packaging and labelling standards; and
    • requirements for the disposal of excess plant material, excess dried marihuana and/or expired dried marihuana.
  • Personnel
    • designation of an individual responsible for managing the production and distribution of dried marihuana; and
    • specific qualifications for all personnel involved in production and distribution.
  • Record-keeping and Reporting
    • requirements to keep records relating to all on-site activities for a set period of time, and the ability to provide set records to Health Canada on request; and
    • requirements for reporting on activities associated with the cultivation of marihuana and the distribution of dried marihuana.
  • Compliance and Enforcement
    • pre-qualification audits and pre-licence inspections; and
    • inspections and/or audits on an ongoing basis.

Hell, I'm planning on inviting the fire department in to inspect my op before I even start - I want to make sure everything is safe and above board. I don't see any reason why I wouldn't be able to transition into being a commercial grower licensed by Health Canada. I'm interested to know what anybody else has learned regarding this.

I don't see anything about Health Canada intending to charge people insane amounts of money for the license to produce commercially.

I think it's funny that you continued to barrage me about the seriousness of my post's, when I unlike anyone else here, actually cites information found... then you turn around and ask questions about the very subject you insinuated I know nothing about, when I was the one who directed you to the info... quite comical indeed...

As for the dollar value... this is what I've heard from people both contacted by HC directly, and those who have attended the meetings that took place several months ago when the reform was in draft mode... care to enlighten me on your sources?

So again... HEAVEN forbid I was SLIGHTLY misinformed about the smallest, and to be honest, most insignificant aspect of the MMAR program... what I can't take seriously... is someone who throws away the obvious wisdom of others for the slightest chance of self righteousness.

Yes, you cite information found - information that proved everything else you were arrogantly ranting about up to that point was wrong. That's funny.

I'm asking questions because I don't know. I don't claim to know - that's why I'm asking.

Okay, that's interesting. Thankyou for that information. I'm going to look into that when I have more time.

As for my "sources" ..... sources for what? I'm not making any claims, I'm asking questions.

1. Whether or not you can charge money for your crop is not one of the "smallest" "insignificant" aspects of the program. It's pretty important.

2. It's not so much what you said as the manner you said it. You arrogantly berated other people about something as if it was written in stone. And you were wrong. This doesn't seem to have instilled any sense of humility in you, which is interesting.

I don't give a shit about this silly, irrelevant argument. I'm only interested in learning new things and helping each other. Carry on being a douche if you wish - I don't care.

I'm the one who didn't edit my post's and change them because I'm not ashamed to display my mistakes... how much more humility do you want???

As for the charging of money... that's only important to those who wish to make a buck, so yeah... to me.. it's insignificant

As for everything else??? Have you not read ANY of my post's??? Everything else consist's of more than could fit inside your head at any given moment... what you're speaking of here is but a SMALL fraction of the "Things" I've said... and is thus far the only thing I was mistaken on....

I'm not being the douche... I didn't prance around challenging other peoples credibility... knowing little to nothing about them.

EDIT: On a side note here... if you want the REAL answers to your question... WTF are you doing on these forums calling out one of the only people who's been able to, or cared to provide the most accurate answers he could find? GTF out of here and call HC ff sakes...

I read page 1 and last page and wanted to give input. If you have your card before 2014 changes you'll be able to grandfather the card and continue to grow. You will not be able to grow after the changes if you did not get your card before. I'm not sure anyone thought of this but I took a lesson from california. We do not have dispenseries like the u.s. but we have compassion clubs in each major city. If your interested in the medical marijuana industry I would suggest starting a compassion club OR call the closest compassion club and talk to them. Most dispenserires and compassion clubs don't grow their own, they require growers. Give them a call and see your options.

There's currently alot of speculation on the grandfather clause, however, there is no certainty that anyone will be grandfathered as their intending to Phase out DG's and PPL's, which means the ones in existence, will not be able to be renewed, as their only valid for a 1 year timeframe.
