fellow Michiganders. I heard from a reliable source MSP will be conducting raids the whole month of June. Their targets? Compassion clubs, dispensaries, and ptp transfers.

Stay stealth brothers and sisters...

Aren't these guys supposed to be enforcing the will of the people of the state for which they work?

This is just absurd....

Its sad as now I can't even go to the Disp when I get desperate....

There are better ways they could be spending their time BUT they know a Cannabis bust is a safe bust
as most of us are non violent unlike the coke or meth dealers.

Office worker. Sounds like I'll be doing tech shit mostly since using computers is more natural to me than driving a car and nobody else there has a clue.

I thought it was legal there.
Depends on who you talk to, and how the aresting officer views the laws.
If he interperts it to say no PtP transfers, he will aresst them and let the judge or jury decide if he was right or wrong.
Either way it will cost the aressted a shit load of $$$$, and the arresting officer will go on with everyday life...

Some cities are considering legislation that would regulate dispensaries, but they're still undefined in state law and are, thus, a gray area. Most LEO think P2P is illegal and so are dispensaries. Some LEO, and it might depend on the city/county, don't think this way, but theoretically I believe the state police and federal government could come in and say we're breaking state law, even though the specific city or county has decided to regulate/tolerate/welcome dispensaries.

This is correct, our local Compassion club has two members on a community board the city has put together to come up with regulations to kinda of clear up the grey area's for us at least, but one member is a retired state police officer and is not happy with the new law and has a hard on for messing with us any way he can.

I'm not too familiar with the Michigan law but it seems crazy. If the state legalized it, then state police can't arrest you for it, right? Like in California, only the DEA can bust people if I'm not mistaken. It just seems stupid. Why would Michigan even legalize it then and leave the law so vague that the police don't even know what's a crime and what isn't. Seems like they just passed this new law to "out" all of the medical users, then round them up. Giving you guys the rope to hang yourself with, ya know? Gotta love the US political system. If suddenly, all the polls shifted tomorrow and showed that 90% of the country strongly supported the legalization of cannabis, the politicians would be running around like their hair is on fire to be the first to propose the bill. Oil spill, terrorism, and the economy would instantly take a back seat. All these assholes care about is saying and doing what they think will win them elections.

Dave Robertson who is running for the 26th district state senate seat. The district is Waterford, Brandon, Ortonville up around Flint/Clio.

I went to a meet the candidate event. He stated that those 'young people weren't even sick' and passed around petitions and got it on the ballot. Then preceded to talk about how he needs to be elected so he can bring 'change' for the better to MI. I about puked. I reminded him they were registered voters.

I asked him if he has read the law and he said no. I asked how he could talk about a law he didn't read and the money that is wasted in arresting people who's only offense is doing something he doesn't agree with. Just a jerk, and Runestad was the government official that brought him to the meeting. Vote him out too.

We should start a thread for candidates and their stand on MMJ
