Caregivers and the " needs based approach "

Are there any caregivers out there who use this model for their work ? Meaning, do you as a caregiver have your patient sit down with you and research what might be the best strain?

I have tried once or twice, but my patients generaly just say " whatever you have is great". Maybe I'm looking for to much of a relationship with the people I serve..

Any thoughts on this :leaf::idea:

In my experience, many patients have a real lack of information about the medical properties of cannabis and think that all cannabis is more or less the same. It's a learning process - California has had access to cannabis on a far greater level than Maine for almost 20 years and is only now starting to really look at tailoring strains to suit specific medical conditions.

When growing a new strain its a # of months before You have prepared medicine ready, so I'm sure that must be something to take into account.

Do you charge more for a sativa dominant strain that takes longer to flower than indica dominant?

no, I charge the same for all meds. even the ones that take 4 months to flower. the sativa's yield large, and if grown in rotation it's always there.

Yeah, Brookies, at one time I ran coco and hand watered.. it was alot of work.. great results though.. but I'm still getting good results with organic soil.. just took me a while to find that "magic" mix. I wasn't seeing much of a difference in quality of bud, so the price stayed par with one another. So I just reduced the work load on my end, and kept the prices the same .

Yeah, i need to come up with a drainage recovery system that is more automated than me picking up the collection tray and dumping it into a bucket.... i'm on the verge of building a flood table or going to drip emitters or something.

HA! I'm still threatening to build a table to collect that 10% run off. I bought two 2x4' flood tables, and a 2x2 table.. I don't even use them.. they'ed make a great coco hydro run!

But nah, nothing ever worked like the tried and true.. get the towel, the tray's are overflowing method.

I hear ya. I used Hempy buckets for a couple years then switched to felt growpots. I really like the felt, but if i let the felt container sit in the runoff i get salt buildup really fast. It's almost enough to make me go back to plastic Hempy buckets.... Almost.

I'm not sure how many caregivers break it down that far. I think most sell by the ounce. Maybe if someone does they'll post.
