Cbd crystals

So I bought a gram of cbd crystalline from a dispensary. It contains 957mg of cbd. It's dab-able, smoke-able, what have you. But I would rather turn it into a tincture. It's already active, no need for decarb. Does anyone know if vegetable glycerine would dissolve these crystals? I would rather not use alcohol. Or anything else that may work to make oral drops. Please hook up the info.

@macsnax,
I assume because you said that you didn't want to use alcohol for your tincture that this is for topical use?

I am sure a straight vegetable glycerin, mix would work, but it will be like putting honey on your body.
So you may want to thin it out with some propylene glycol.

Here is a video that shows how to make an e-juice mixture which I am sure would work just fine as a topical tincture.
Both the ingredients they use are used in lotions and food, so they should be good for your skin.

Here is a video showing what I was talking about, how a VG dominate juice is thicker than a PG dominate juice, which is much thinner.

The only thing is, the first video doesn't suggest warming the liquids when mixing them and I think this would be a good idea.
You can mix the VG and PG at room temp, but heat them before you add the CBD.
It just needs to get to like 170F or so and held there for a few moments, then you can add the CBD crystals and allow it to cool.
Once you have mixed the VG and the PG, you can heat it in the microwave or in a borosilicate glass inside a pan of some simmering water.

I hope this was helpful.

Yes CBD is miscible in VG.

Thank you, I thought this would be the case. I'm fairly new to using cbd and didn't want to ruin the batch.

Check around, CBD crystal prices are falling. I paid $10 gram for 65 grams wholesale, but have been quoted $5k to $6.5K per kilo in bulk.

Make sure the company you the CBD from does regular testing on their crystals and provides those reports when you ask for them.
Otherwise you could be buying CBD that is contaminated with other unwanted chemicals.

Decarb doesnt apply to CBD, its a THCA to THC process.....

I think it's actually thca or cbda to thc or cbd.
THen you are correct, the process applie to CBD then as well.

CBN conversion also takes place, hence hashish always needs that decarb process,

Im all for decarb, too many nay sayers, but the potency of a non decarb product usually has too high THC ratio which causes unrest

In other news, I will be finishing up my tincture tonight. I dissolved I gram of cbd into two ounces of vg. And tonight I'm going to dilute it down with water. I'm a little hesitant, but the info was in one of the links above. Fyi these are going to be oral drops. I wanted a non alcoholic tincture, my past has a rocky road with alcohol so I steer clear of it. Will post results of finished product.

Oral sublingual?

Ok so I didn't dilute my mixture with water. The idea seems ass backwards and I didn't want to try until I've seen it done. I'm sure it works, I just don't want to be the guinea pig, and find out it doesn't. What I ended up doing was cutting it with more VG. A very small amount in each dropper vial went back to a solid, not too much to worry about though, and I was trying to make a strong mixture. I think next time I'm going to use just enough everclear to dissolve the cbd, then dilute with VG. I'll be making a mixture with PG too, something to rub into aches and pains on the body.

Water will not dilute CBD

Cannabinoids are liposoluble, not hydrosoluble, which means they disolved in fatty matter like oils, try olive oil or coconut oil/

I used olive oil for sublingual with cbd isolate crystals, you can tell the crystals are absorbed when the oil liquifys them, for vaping and dont put too much VG, it stops the crystals from being absorbed, at least make it 50 pg 50 vg no more vg then that.

Either way vaping or sub lingual make sure crystals are disolved and always shake bottle before use

Yeah, I guess there's some science behind adding water to the VG/cbd mix. It's supposed to allow a higher concentration of cbd to be dissolved into the mixture.
