Cannabiniods in Cannabis
With the largely underground cannabis scene prioritizing potency as a key factor in making a particular strain more desirable than another, as a direct result today's cannabis market is full of varieties with a high level of the cannabiniod, THC. But although THC is one of the most prevalent active compounds in cannabis, there are at least 85 cannabinoids that we know of and that CBD is the cannabionoid emerging with the most anticipated potential as a legitimate medical and medicinal option.
CBD Rich Strains of Cannabis
CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol and is second only to THC with regards to averaging volume. CBD has shown to have analgestic, anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety properties without having the psychoactive effect that THC delivers. Cannabis strains are considered high in THC with levels of over 20%, whilst a variety is considered to be high in CBD or CBD Rich with CBD levels of over 4%.

After a lot of crosses and selection, Elite Seeds have succeeded in creating a strain that is rich in CBD that also produces high yields.
Solodiol is the latest CBD Rich photoperiod strain that has been created by Elite Seeds, with an autoflowering version soon to be released as well. The CBD:THC ratio of Solodiol is 20:1 (20% CBD, 1% THC). Solodiol was created by crossing varieties high in CBD without using inbred genetics as offspring of from those genetics can often have anomalies. A great accompaniment to this strain rich in CBD is a non alcoholic beer!
