Cfl+ flouros

Hello, I am new at this and was hoping someone could answer my question. I have read many of the old posts and see that lighting needs to hit the lower foliage. I made this wood tower out of pine and currently have 2 24" grow lux, and 2 18 inch gro-lux reggie flouros in. They will stand beside the plants(3). I have 3 23w and one 43(?) that will be directly over them.
I know i should add more on top, how much
is the light from the sides too much, or could more be used?Thanks.

Just save up for a hps dude. Like 100 dollars at htgsupply.com

get the do it yourself ballast, and buy a bulb. saves loads of money

is the inside growing forum now the cfl only forum roll??? This is why the cfl forum should be listed else where as to limit discussion of options in the indoor forum to only cfl isnt really a good thing..just my thinking.cfls would be beter fit for a begginers grow or even a grow room setup sub forum

DUDE NO!!!

Do not grow with black ligts ... and u shud use cool white cfls for veg if u are going to be using CFLs and soft white for flowreing .. and u need to lower ur lights to 1-3'' aways from the top of the plants ... and i dont see a fan in there .. and DO NOT put the fan directyly on ur plants ... they will not be able to get the C02 they need..so get a ocsy fan. thanks .. They are one to 3 inches, the lights glowing blue are the grow floros. I have a fan on them, just not in the pic. Im pretty sure my bulbs are the right ones, the camera just didnt do real well.

gotcha man ... how many plant u got there compared to ur light ratio ? ..just wanting ro see whats up with that? .. i unno ..GL!

I have 5 babies in there now, but plan to have it down to 3 before i have any problems with too little light. I was really hoping someone would tell me what they thought of the lamps on the side. Will the plants grow towards the lights? I was even considering putting arms on it so I could have lights on 3 sides and from the top.

the platns will grow towards the thing thats putting out the most lumens i.e i have a 1000w MH light ... and CFL side lights ... the CFL's are 2 inches aways ..and the MH lamp is i unnoo .. 30'' away ... i.e. since the plants love light .. they will get the most from the MH hence grow towards the MH .. ... i guess the lights on the side wud help .. but i were u .. i wud try to confine the grow room (trap as many lumens as u can)... GL!

I just had them on for show. I am really only usinf the cfls to get them big enough for all the lights.

I listened to what you were saying the other day.I made an L out of mylar and have it on two of the sides. I have floros on the wall, which I am going to add to, to fill up that wall piece. I am thinking of a way to put some sort of reflector on the top. The bulbs are 42w, except for one which is 23. I am on day 10 of vegging.They are stying short for the most part, which is good. But the leaves are really wide.
I have also serched, and would also like to ask at what point is the absolute earliest one can tell gender. People keep telling me you can tell early, but none of them know how. I read here that you wait till flowering. Can one of you motherfuckin crazy ass super growers help a honky out?
