Cfl kelvin rating

I have two CFL's in my mini-box right now. One is a 23W 6500K bulb, and the other is a 30W 3500K bulb. I also have (not in the box) a 23W 5500K bulb. Would I be better off leaving what is in there now, or putting in the 5500K bulb, even though it is slightly less wattage.

I am a couple weeks into veg and getting ready to start flowering.

LITE IS LITE IS LITE,The more lite the better bro,and the kelvin rate is for the color spectrum low #'s are blue's for veg and high #'s are reds for flowering,i'm using 5500k and up's[late summer and fall lite colors]and i have a lot of good groth going on.So i think the more lite the better.Just watch the heat and you will be gooood.

I'm no expert by any means, but I believe he is right. As long as your temps are controllable, I think the more light the better. I also know hes right about the blue spectrum lower #'s are for veg, and warm white high #'s are for flowering

Low kelvin numbers, if thats what you are talking about, are warmer light and more red spectrum. The high kelvin numbers are the cooler, more blue light. 5500K and up would be blue, and good for vegetative like you said. I would think late summer and fall colors would be more red spectrum to go along with natural flowering, which would be like 2700K.

But that is exactly why I asked if the 5500K bulb, even though it is only 23W and the 3500K bulb is 30W, would actually be better for the end of vegging because it is more of the spectrum that the plant is using for growth.

Anyone have an answer? Is more lumens of 3500K light better than less lumens of 5500K? I would just go out to the store and buy a better bulb but in about a week I'm going to start flowering so it would kind of be a waste now.
