wich one would be a better use for veg and what are pros and cons
MH hands down, the only issue is heat. I have seen a lot of cfl grows on this site that look amazing but the MH and HPS are way hotter but much much stronger and makes some dense ass nuggs compared to cfl. If your going for the stealth its much easier with the cfl as there is less heat to deal with and you can use much less space

Sorry misread yes you can veg with the HPS, in my opinion you will get denser plants. Lets see what others say. I am not trying to start a cfl vs hid fight. I would change to the hps and use the cfl for undergrowth if any.

All good its the Flowering under the HPS thats gonna make it explode anyway
Yep totally agree.
I do my veg under CFLs for a while. Slower growing than MH. More expensive initially (on a per-watt basis), but lower electricity and therefore, cooling. But : I'd only do it if there were serious limits on space, like in my case.
I don't trust a MH/HPS enclosed in a box or a small closet because of more of a chance of fire, although i suppose it is quite common. One could argue that all the wiring needed for multiple CFLs is a risk as well.
MH is simple and efficient for a large/open veg space.
So my answer would be : it mostly depends on your amount of veg space available.
