cfls ?????????please help

ok i went to home deop an i waz lookin for cfls an i went to the light section an saw the squiggly lighs they had green red an blue ones an the only had up to 100 wat in the blue an 120 for red and as far as greann goes they went up to 200 maby higher but the guy at home depo said u cant grow plants wit thos light an showed me the light i got it its called philips plant light 120 wat agro-lite an also i got a philips heat light 250wat red will these work?were do you recomend i get cfls?an wat does cfls mean? thanks...:leaf:

CFL is a compact fluorescent lamp. That guy obviously doesn't know what he's talking about if he said you can't grow plants with CFL bulbs, those are some of the best kind of bulbs to grow with aside from HIDs.

None of those wattages you listed sound like CFL bulbs.

13/23/26/42 are common wattages. 60/100/150w incandescent equivalents.

You want soft white bulbs for flowering and 'daylight' bulbs for veg. Soft white are 2700K color temp and daylight are 6400K.

A heat light is pointless unless you are really worried about how cold it is (30/40(Fahrenheit) degree ambient temperature), its just going to cook your plants.

You can buy CFL bulbs at any store that sells light bulbs, walmart, target, your local grocery store probably sells them.

I have 30,23watts, cfls, 48000lums on 7 plants. 88 degrees, outside air flow. Flowering, Look pretty good too me 2mean420,
