Cheapest grow Round 2

Round 1 is 3 weeks into flower and doing well. I decided to start a new grow journal for round 2.

The first 3 plants are at week 6 and week 5 (x2). Two were topped and one was FIM'ed

The other 3 are 4 weeks old, two were topped and one was FIM'ed

I really like how much they bush out when I FIM them. I spent a few more $ for timer, soil and a watering container. I like the design as it gives me more control adding water slowly.

Yes finally, but only 5-1/2". This time I am going to pick the best 4 for the flowering closet so I can use the big pots.
Since I almost killed one having the heater too close, I still have some wiggle room if one is a male. I need to get an enclosed space in the basement, I cannot seem to get it above 20C on my grow shelf, but at least the RH is 40%.
Thanks for stopping by!

I think these plants are ready to flip but I have 2 or more weeks to go before Round 1 is finished in flower. Since Round 1 has shown I can make it work I think the time has come to step it up. Grow room or grow tents will be a large improvement over growing in a closet.

Funny you should mention that. My wife just ordered 10 Mylar sheets. The hard drive plattesr are very reflective, but a bit heavy for hanging. The Mylar blankets should make a huge difference. They should be installed by the time I am ready for Round 2 in flowering.

Looking into grow tents for the basement, with an eye towards maybe moving into an apartment next year. The basement here is too cold, especially in the winter. The grow closet will stay upstairs and to flower I want a big tent or a room in the basement, where I can control the environment and eliminate odor.

From hard personal experience I've found that tents don't do either of those.

OK, duly noted. I have the time and now some money so I want to do it right. I am leaning towards a room and I can just put it together with screws so I can take it apart when I move.

I have been asking arund about a used light, or if this or that model is good. Anyway my wife suggested I try Amazon and now I own a light.

MarsHydro Mars300 Mars600 LED Grow Light For Indoor Plant Growth And Flowering Spectrum (Mars300 the 132W True Watt Panel)

It cost me about $150 all in and as usual I found the same light(s) for cheaper a little later. If it turns out to be really nice I may buy a few more.

So thanks to everyone for all the suggestions. I decided to put on my big boy pants and JUST DO IT.

Well now that I have a light, I thought I might as well buy a tent to put it in. The storage shelf in the basement just is not cutting it for anything more than slow vegging. It cost me $140. Now I can flower in two areas.

A few weeks back one of my plants started at auto-flower. Must have been an auto in the bag seed. It was to scrawny to support teeny weeny popcorn flowers. I grew tired of trying to support it, even the tomato cage was not enough. The stalks just started bending inwards, so I chopped it, and put it outside. It seems to be growing again.

Thanks. I was kind of one of those "what the hell why not" moments. It may have time to flower but I will use whatever I can from it for edibles of RSO.

Seems like it. Around week 8-10 it started to stretch, and flower, on a 16/8 light schedule.

I re-potted 2 plants to 5 gallon pots on Friday, and then the other 2 plants on Sunday. I have my new Mars300 light and the tent will be here on Friday. That should be plenty of time for the plants to adjust to replanting before I flip them to 12/12.

And the fun begins. I received my grow tent yesterday. Started to build it, finished it today by hanging the new light in the tent and putting the plants inside. I am concerned about how short the light is so I may just buy a 2nd one at some point. So hopefully tent+light=bigbuds. They are in the dark now until 7PM tomorrow, then the lights come on and the show begins.
