Cheapest grow Round 2

I tried to do some extra topping on a few that I had going under a single LED bulb. The lack of light power only produces string bean plants, and extra topping caused it to collapse from the weight of popcorn buds. I expect that with decent lights now I can do some extra topping in Round 4.
My last grow I did one plant. I got 62 tops. It got out of control in flower though. Bc my tent wasn't big enough. But it kept popping shoots up so I kept bending up around towards the light. I'll have to see of I can find a pic of it on my old phone. It looked amazing before flip. Then the stretch in flower come. And it was a mess lol. I had buds from one top growing into other buds. And I actually had to tops grow together and intertwined themselves and buddies themselves together. Lol made for super hard trimming

I guess a trellis net would've taken care of that. But I just don't think it grows fast enough in soil for a net. For the way I grow. But I did buy a water farm, and gonna try luck at hydro. If I can get a decent plant (sour livers x honey bee) going in hydro. I'll clone it and try a scrog.

Thanks guys, I am pretty stoked about how well it is going. I switched to 10/14 on July 1 and I hope I can shave a week off the grow time. For sure I think I need another tent and 2 more lights o_O if I want to be self sufficient and have enough to make meds as well. I feel like I am well on my way now.
:weed:

Thats the best way, its empowering and economical. After growing my own I would never go back....the only thing is pressing for rosin or shatter. Luckily Jungle Boys right by my house will press your homegrown stuff for $5 an 8th so I've been using that about 2 times a week to supplement my own stuff

I know what you mean. https://www.rollitup.org/t/mother-of-berry-scrog-update.943217/ I have about 46 tops but about 30 or so that are really good and big. This is in a 18" by 24" space. I will have to get rid of some of the lower ones that are not getting enough light. They get out of control fast when you start training them.

The one thing is that I never top. I only use low stress training. By using elastic to pull down the tops instead of string or something that has no elasticity the roots and plant goes crazy. When you top your plant the tap root stops growing which is not great if done too soon.
The elastic topping method is like resistance exercise for your plant.

Hard to get a good picture but, I am sure you get the idea. Just like topping you force all the energy to the lower growth. In one day or less the plant will turn back up. Just keep pulling it down gently until it is were you want it. When the top starts getting too big again just pull it to another side. The root ball will become massive and so will the growth.
You don't have to use something elastic but, it is better because it provides resistance straining. I even tied it so it can be adjusted. The other end that gets hooked on the plant pot is just a bread tie.
Sorry Zoic hope I am not intruding by posting so much. I just though that before you start training you should know more about this technique. I have also posted a video regarding LST tops which is where I got the idea from. A company makes and sells them but, as you can see it is easy to make something just like them.
Your plants are looking super Zoic can't wait to see how the nugz further develop. Sorry about the cat pee strain. I know strains like that are usually great smoke but, the smell kinda sucks.
Happy growing.

Almost time for this weeks photos. Can't wait to see how they are looking. What's this day 42? 2 more days until week 3 for me and I am just loving this. She smells so much like blueberries already.
Your must really be making a stink now.
I am not going to complain about someone posting in a thread I started when they are trying to help me and teach me solid techniques. So, au contraire, thank you. I am taking notes.
Thanks. I know you never know what will work best for you until you try. I personally have tried many different things to include topping, fimming, and monster cropping (my least favorite.) It is sad sounding when you crack your plants on purpose. Just my opinion but, it makes me cringe. They say it makes that knuckle which helps it transport nutrients but, it's gotta hurt like hell. Let me break your leg and let it heal bent. I know it is a plant but, come on. All though people that use the monster cropping technique grow 1 pound plants and stuff.
Still seems like a lot of stress on the plant. I will stick to my LST topping.

Definitely lookn good @zoic

@Love Headies I know what you mean by getting out of control. I have one now that's turning that way. I may have to end up mothering her. Bc I think she's so tight I'm gonna have problems with her in flower. I raised my light to almost 3 foot from her to try to get her to stretch some. And she didn't stretch at all.

I run BARNEYS FARM 8 ball kush once. Cloned it twice. Took the original one at 50/50 cloudy/Amber. Then took one all cloudy, and the other clone all amber. It was like 3 different strains.

The 50/50 was perfect
The all cloudy was super racey/energetic
And the amber was put your ass to sleep. And wake up like did i finish smoking that last night. LoL

Wow yea! She looks amazingly bushy. Maybe that one has some dwarf genes or something. I had the same problem for a while with mine as well. Once I raised the light enough she started stretching a bit more. It could be a nutrient or PH problem but, the plant looks super healthy just really bushy. Some strains seem to be very photo sensitive especially indica's.

I managed to get some pics upstairs before was too exhausted to do it. Day 42. My wife wants me to leave one go super long until it has lots of amber trichs. She wants that couch lock effect.

Dude! Looking great. Really starting to fill in. I will have some new pictures of my girl tomorrow is week 3. Just did some major pruning on the lower growth. Should have got a picture of the pile I got rid of. All the stuff that doesn't get enough light is just not worth the time and energy.
I will still use it though. I like to make some weed tea every once and a while. Blueberry tea yum! I like to use every part of the plant if possible. The stems are the only thing I don't really use. I know they say just making tea with leaves doesn't do anything but, I swear it makes me feel calmer.
I like it when the trichs are nice and amber too. Good sleepy time meds. However, it is smart to have some that is not so amber for the day time. I wish I could let mine get real amber but, we are going to move soon and I don't have the time to wait. :( I am not pulling her untill she is at least 50/50 though. Hope I can grow in the new place.

Thanks much. I cannot decide which one of these mystery plants to go extra long for the amber trichs. I suppose the first one to show amber may be the last one I cut. So many choices and so little time, LOL.

Man Z- Everything is lookin nice!!:weed: I ended up reading the whole damn thread and seeing the 1st couple pics of your plants under a desk light...to NOW is amazing. I'm just getting back into it, so this gives me hope that I still have any idea what I'm doing:blsmoke:

Thanks. It turned out to be way easier than I thought. If you just check them daily and watch out for bugs infestations or other disease they will likely turn out OK. I really have not done anything special, U just water them when they are dry and check the light timer. If the temps or humidity get to high, I leave the door open and let some AC air from the rest of the hose creep in while the humidity drops below 60%. It was 87% in the tent a few days ago, much higher and I would have the makings of a rain forest, LOL.

I'm deff staying with the K.I.S.S. method this time. I'm going to try the Lucas Formula with the Flora Nova and minimal other stuff. I've always grown in soil. Roots soil in the past, but FFOF with extra chunky perlite this go round.
I've been trying to pop some old seeds I had in storage from 06-09 but NO LUCK:wall: Soooo frustrating!! It's ok I guess, but I had a bunch of good ones from BEFORE ReeferMan stuff seemed to go to hell as well as other breeders.
It's ok...new seeds already ordered and fingers crossed

Looking great man. It really is amazing how much you can do with these plants. It is so much fun trying to make more heads. I have been working on the first set of clones. They are about 3 weeks old and have been LST'd 2 times so far. I am not sure how many heads there are so far. I would like to keep pulling them down until they circle around the smart pot.

I know they are monstrous like the momma. I have some new baby clones also just in case. These are in Coast of Maine Stonington blend. They seem to love this stuff. Hope I don't need anything for them but, it's ok if I do.

I know these plants can take a lot of abuse and still finish. I have seen them stall for a while but, once you fix what's wrong they will take off again.
I am glad they are so forgiving. I started with crappy soil and had to amend the crap out of it. Made another mistake using plant spikes. Then I have had PH problems pretty much through the entire grow. I will be happy with a couple ounces at this point. She looks good considering everything she has been through. Had a calcium deficiency which can cause real problems in flower.
She survived the flush I did and I think she will be alright now that I gave her some more cal-mag, tiger bloom, and big bloom. Just a side note, every time I use the big bloom she gets more and more stinky. I know she will now anyways but, this stuff is worm casting and bat guano and they really seem to love it.
Anyways where are this weeks pictures Zoic? Can't wait to see how they are coming along. Just about to finish most of them up I would say. Are you planning on using any kind of Molasses or something? I heard that stuff makes them really get sugared up.
