Since China cut down all the exports all of the rare elements ,used in die/phosphor manufacture..

And they have started,'weirdly',all of a sudden researches about leds ,all over their universities..
..Hard kick to American/European led man/ers...Way under the belt...
They wish to control the future of led industry ?
..All of it... ?

They are mining the goodies....
They have exported the goodies...
Others used them and discovered other ,more expensive goodies...
Those "others" put "them" to produce "their" (?) goodies...
By now ,"they" know, how...
They have millions of workers/students/scientists....
Hmmmm....
...
And they cut down the exports or set really high prices to exported matter ?
..
Clever ?
Cool ?
Bad ?
Whatever....

That's life...
C'est la vie...

Sorry we have done this to ourselves. The amount of WORLD recycling that China takes onboard is immense and as such our wasteful actions and hypocritical green policies throughout the western world put them in an ever stronger position - Imagine your business is house clearing and antique sales:
You get paid to clear the house $500
You turn 90% of the trash (everything but used nappies) into salable hand crafts $500
You turn around everything older than 1999 as an antique $5000
Total Overhead = $0
Total profit = £6000

Now do that maths on a world wide scale...

If you don't believe me have a look at their released policy on Waste import http://www.env.go.jp/recycle/yugai/seminar/seminar080508/3_MEP_EN.pdf of particular note is page 8 "Automatic licensing of waste that can be used as raw materials"

Now do a little financial digging and compare the financial situation of USA vs China

Lastly to PSUAGRO have a look at the Chinese population figures compared to the US they have around 20% of the population of the WHOLE WORLD- if we bomb them we will ALL die it is as simple as that, they have more money in the bank better technology better infrastructure more industry (especially heavy industry) and we have spent decades paying them to take away our raw materials for manufacture.
The average soldiers wage in China is $230 month according to Google - the average wage of a US soldier is £1500 per month (both 2006 figures I didn't look for long)
This would mean that for every American soldier there could be 6.5 Chinese soldiers for the same money. For every available US recruit there will be 4.3 Chinese recruits.

Bombing may be a bad Idea.

it has to do with the convenience mentality that is so rampant in the 1st world; for decades. it seems as if it's been bred into our way of thinking for generations now...

yesterday some friends came over with their new iPhone 5s... wtf really? there was nothing wrong with their 4s (which they only had for a few months)... but it shows this drive for consumption with wanton disregard and narrow scope of ramafications for the rest of the world when our precious little bauble loses it's sparkle...

there was a time when i would get hand tools at cheap-o stores, until i noticed that everything tool or fastener that was made of weak metal (you know, screws snapping, or the heads stripping out under normal drive with a hand tool, or bits breaking on the first use) was made in china. so we have X here in the US, it breaks and we toss it for a new one (thats made in China). the old one goes to china and is recycled into some other form of crap and is then resold back to us... perfect business model, and glad to know that Wal-Mart and it's ilk have helped to make it so.

also, stuff that is made in China is so cheap compared to what it sells for here in the states. an aquantance that i met at the shop i work at spends a lot of time in China and told me about the "Gold Power" factory there that hew goes to and gets them to make his 1000w ballasts to his spec. better than anything commercially avainlable here, but made at the same exact factory, by the same workers and using the same components (or upgraded where available). he pays $61 per ballast out the door, with every upgreade the factory can offer. he said that SunBlaze 48s cost $15 at the factory and the 4 foot tubes that cost $15 here are only a shiny quarter there.

he even mentioned that when it comes to the factory negotiating with a foreign direct-retailer, they are allowed to sell at a loss, and that the factories receive subsidies from the government to cover that selling at a loss, and allow them to increase employee ranks. he also said that their factory managers get bonuses based on increases in worker numbers, not directly related to production output. as he explained these details to me, i saw that they are clearly chasing market share with eyes to the future. finding that stuff up there about the recycling... wow just wow...

Television is the "adjuster" but not just advertising, look at the news for example. When was the last time you saw a news broadcast that gave you enough information to actually understand something instead of giving you just enough information to form an opinion?

I often wonder if the capitalist economic model can survive without some form of slavery, either 1800s style or the more current "subsistence living" version (Indian clothing, Chinese industry, South American coffee, basically anything produced by people who's financial situation makes their body a disposable commodity) everything that the west has is built on this, we have been doing it for so long that we presume to pretend that we have poor people in America! Poverty is a long slow painful death from starvation, it is illiteracy and deprivation on a scale that turns humans into horses or less.

IMHO this is why we are programmed so carefully to comply, buy, and feel that we have so little. If we noticed that we are standing on the broken limbs of others then maybe we would look up and see that we are being stood on in turn? That would be bad for those at the top who, make no mistake, take pleasure in standing on all of that misery and will fight (not personally of course, that's part of the deal) to maintain that status quo until their dying breath, that's a long time after everybody else is dead too because they can force you to fight (yes you personally, it don't matter who you are or what you believe - YOU)
