Chemdawg

Not actually a review but just a post about the strain in general. I got 5 seeds of this strain and started them, just seedlings at the moment. But I've been finding some things which tell me that it's probably not the strain for me. Fortunately I got another strain seeds at the same time and didn't find anything negative about it so I'll just stick with that one most likely.

So what I learned is that it's a real stinker, not quality-wise but literal stink-wise. Not really a great quality for indoor growth. But then just now I was watching a video by Humboldt Seeds and when they got to the Chemdawg they stated "highly susceptible to grey mold and powdery mildew". Well gee, sign me up, right? The Chemdawg part starts at about 3:20. Fortunately I only paid $3 a seed, so no great loss, $15. I'll grow em out to get my money's worth and to try it out but very unlikely I'll keep it. BTW the Pineapple Skunk, after the Chemdawg part, looks like a good one, purple calyxes and sweet taste.

In the old Grow books they always made a point about easy and difficult strains to grow.

Chemdog is the base strain for most of our modern Fire. And classics like OG Kush. But these strains are for advanced growers who know how to read and adjust for picky plants.

It tends to hermie. It tends to burn from salt buildup and it is not happy with environmental fluctuations.

Grow northern lights or skunk one or most any classic indica hybrid for a stable easy to grow plant. You may even get a fire pheno. But it may be pickier and less resistant.

I like diesel Thai hybrids. Very complex high and flavors. Chem dog is the base for sour diesel.

And Thai plants are even pickier to grow.

But like everything. The better it gets the higher the cost. If you get what I mean.
