ive got a whole bucket of chicken shit from our farm, the soil i use is from our cow field, i scooped it up from around the cows old hayring area..where they stand and munch and shit all day so the shit piles up after years...dont know how long that hay ring was there but they tore it up so we bought a new one and its in a different location...and that was done over a year before i even got my soil so i rekon if it needed some weathering it got it...anyway in the old hay ring area where i scooped up my soil theres no grass growing just a big patch of dark dark soil i guess from all the cow shit......how is cow shit for plants anyway??....my plant is in budding process can i transplant into bigger pot without hurting anything?? plant is in one gallon ice cream tub..anyway got more soil from farm and chicken shit...was wondering how much chickin shit i should use or how i go about using it..or even if its good to use at all. thanks for the responses in advance.:blsmoke:

i thought they all just ate hay. maybe a little alphalfa here and there.
I know cows get given some kind of feed in the form of pellets, plus they are encouraged to graze on fresh grass/vegetation.
Cows are milked, are steers milked?
If not, would it be something to do with the pellet feed they are given? :blsmoke:

lol are cow farm is not a dairy farm...we sell the calfs at auction auctioned off by beef companies or local farmers who need either heffers or steers..all our cows eat is hay and the grass they have in their 18 acre pasture....salt blocks, cotton seed, corn, like protein pellets or somthing...we also have chickens

I think chicken manure is good for veg. I'd let it compost for a couple of months first other wise it may burn your plants.

i got this shit where i knew it had been for awhile...the bottom of our chicken pen is coverd in about 8 inchs of old shit
Sounds perfect, always go light at first because it will burn if you don't take precautions

make a batch or manure/ compost tea and lghtly spray your plants early in the morning. That is what I would do if you had not already

yep, and always dilute the tea to a very very very light amont cause a little goes along way and you don't want it to smell. you can also water it with some diluted tea. I'd say after this foliar feed I wouldn't spray the plant any more since you will be nearing harvest then and you don't want foreign materials on your buds.
