Chineese LEDs...

So i am new to LEDs and hasn't spend much time researching and ordered bunch of 1500W COBs loaded with 5X300W epistar chips, 140$ a pieace. Are they worth trying or should i change chips in them for good results?
research after buying is my thing =D

Epistars are less efficient than HPS. I wouldn;t use them unless you have a tiny tent with the reflective surfaces close.

So the 600W HPS is better than 3000W (actual use 600W) of that crap? BTW they dont even have any reflectors integrated in it...

I’m running 4 650 lumigrows how do I find out who makes the bulbs?I did a google search...hmmm ok now that I think of it maybe its on their site.Anyways I love these lights in case anyone is looking for a strong lead system that gives me giant buds and makes my seedlings and clones blow up.

Been looking at 1800 w cob LEDs on Amazon and eBay. The ones with 6 - 300 w chips. I'm sure they are all Chinese in manufacture. Anyone know how they work? I'm not getting the density I want with my single 300 w led.

Go with the 650 lumigrow.Youll get density color if you use the right nutrients.Earth Juice works well.Good luck.AFE6DEBB-0645-4275-BFB2-F6AAA2E63029.png

Of course the supplier said that, they will say anything to sell their products... lol Blue is more for vegging, red is more for flowering, so I would think the purple would be better at producing buds. But I am no expert and have never used led's before. Please keep us updated on your progress with the new blue lighting.

it has just blue colored case, it produces the Cree type of color and has a yellow chip... It says they does have IR and UV

Yeah you may be ale to change out the cobs for some nice ones like citizen or vero but you need to open it up and check the specs on the drivers so you can figure which would be a good alternative.

You'd be better off building your own using Bridgelux/Samsung strips. Hang in an ali frame with a driver and job done. You'll get exactly the type of light you need - spectrum/Kelvin - so you will have a great light that works. If you don't know wiring people here will do a diagram for you :)
With this COB you'll get nothing much at all probably, if you don't use the best chips. You might end up with crap weed after spending weeks waiting for the harvest then having to start again. COBS are very good lights IF you get the good chips. And can verify that you're getting what you are being told you are getting. I wouldn't risk it with this unit tbh.....good luck with your choice though!

Where do I get good cob chips? I've looked a lot at DYO setups because I'm building an new room from scratch I want to get the best setup I can. Been using a small tent so my small led has been working to a point lol.

These Chinese cob lights are pretty new on the market. They realised COB was the magic word in LED last few years and jumped on the bandwagon.
Issue is that the true magic word is Efficiency, unfortunately they havn't jumped on that bandwagon yet... :-P
