Cleaning Out RDWC System

SO, it's been a while since I cleaned out my system. I started to do a staggered harvest several months ago, and when that happened, I couldn't decide how to clean out the res and trays, etc because there are always plants in there. I used to grow a couple of harvests and clean out the system when it was emptied of plants.

So, any suggestions? Do I need to remove the plants and clean the tubs with bleach solution, or can I effectively run something like GH FloraKleen with the plants in there? I don't know that I even need to do a cleaning, the plants seem to be doing great, but I don't want to run into salt buildup or anything!

TIA

I'm giving flying skulls Z7 a try . it's an enzyme cleaner/root rot preventer that is supposed to do just what you ask.

so far it's working good for me.

So, you think it's helping to keep your stuff clean AND do what it claims for roots? I did a quick Google and their claims and marketing are pretty extreme, lol. If I went with something like this, I would obviously have to ditch the H2O2 in the summer and without a chiller, I don't know how feasible that is.

i'm gonna find out. dyna gro makes a similar enzyme product which claims to do the same.

i was using chlorine but i wanted to try fulvic acid which you can't use with chlorine which led to Z7.

i used it on the tail end of my last grow and the roots came out nice and white in my hempy buckets. i've been using it for this whole grow so far. and my temps are low 80s so a haven for rot.

I hit a couple of shops near me couldn't find either. I did grab some Hesi PowerClean, hopefully similar!

Hesi PowerClean (formerly Powerzyme) is an enzyme extract for plants that works well with coco, soil and hydroponics gardening.

Made by natural fermentation, this enzyme formula stimulates the root activity and root growth in your plants which accelerates the absorption of nutrients for an overall healthier garden.

It works by activating healthy micro-organisms in the substrate, which, in turn recycles the valuable compounds from root remains for re-absorption.

PowerClean also increases your plants' resistance to disease!

Application rate: use 2 ml per liter
