Clone direct to 12/12

Im using two rooms .. One for clones & veg and the other for flowering.. Problem is if i leave them in the veg room waiting for the ones in the flowering room to harvest they end up way too tall for the flowering room (9-12 weeks in flower room).
Cloning Method:
Clones are placed thru some foam and floating in ph adjusted water for 48 hours, then into rockwool, clay balls and basket until they have developed roots. Then i slowly increase the nuits over the next 3-4 weeks. This has been a very successful method in the past.
What im thinking of trying:
What will happen if i also turn the colne & veg room into another flower room..?.
Using the same method for cloning but placing the clones as soon as they are cut under 12/12 and HPS lights then slowly increasing with Bloom Nuits. By the time they are moved into the larger flowering room they will already be 3-4 weeks into the flowering stage and will not end up as tall.
Any comments appreciated.

I had exactly the same problems with plant height and veg time. This time I went straight from my aerocloner to my flower room and everything seems to be working out fine.

This grow Papaya, Hindu Kush Aerotub Journal I let the plants get to about 2' tall before going to 12/12 and they became completely unmanageable. I couldn't LST due to space limitations and the main colas got way too close to the lights. What a waste of space! I ended up with 6-7' tall plants that had 4' of wasted space below the uppermost flowers. I had no choice though........I started with seeds and I will not go to 12/12 until I see preflowers.

Luckily I was able to grab a Mom from the bunch and clone her. As I said, these plants New Papaya/Kush Journal with pics went from my aerocloner to 12/12 with no veg time and they are much better off.

A lot of it depends on your particular strain. Indicas don't grow as fast once they begin flowering so they may be a little shorter. Most sativas can go straight to flowering once the clone roots.

flowering in aeroponics has enabled me to go almost straight into 12/12. You want to have a good root structure already in place before you transition.
