clone question

i was doing some bending with my connie chung, and i had already topped my plant, so i basically had two tops growing, as if it were two plants, you get the idea.
anyway i went to do some bending and i ripped one of the tops off, so i said fuck it ill through the top in some soil and hope that it goes,
im just wondering, has someone done this before? dont you need to dip the cutting in some type of solution before you clone? i dont have the stuff to dip it in, i just put it in the soil and made the soil super moist.
is there a chance this will take root and keep growing?

You should use a root stimulant like clonex gel or rootone powder (even Miracle grow makes some) but just straight into the soil will work but dont keep it sopping wet let it dry some and try and keep it in a very humid area like make a tent gehtto style out of saran wrap ( if its real ghetto you can use a store brand plastic wrap) --
