clones

Up until my last grow was using commercial seed from stuff i got around here. No problem cloning, usually a 75% success rate at worst. Now I have Kush, Ketama and Big Bud and they are not cooperating. So far maybe a 25% success rate. I have G13 germinating and was wondering if these more "exotic" strains are harder to clone. Been using Klonex and rockwool. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.

some strains react differently to diffrent medias and rooting gels. Wat kind of rooting gel are u using ? I find that rooting gels have a higher and quicker success rate than rooting powders but they both work.

Also make sure when ur cutting ur clones u cut them under water this way no air pockets can be in the stem.

I also put a 5% solution of high phosphorous nutrient in the water.

verry good.
temp is a factor you want a heat source on the botton the roots will grow faster. spray the leaves.

very helpful, i did notice that the stems of the newer strain are much thicker at cloning time than the old stuff. put in few more in with clonex yesterday, gonna try a few with olivia's today. thnks again for the help.

its hard to use rockwool because it retains so much water. It makes it hard for the clone to regenerate roots when it doesnt get dry, and people tend to keep it really wet

and guilty of exactly that. i was under the impression that it was impossible to "drown" something in rockwool due to its natural ability to hold o2......not a good thing to be misinformed about. what do you suggest as a rooting medium ???? i'm gettin to the point i hate rockwool.

all i use is my home made soil perlite, potting soil, peat moss, lime been working good then i bought one of these trays with 36 little pots. and a plastic cover. get one or a few of thes if you want good results. it took 10 days i got 26 plants the others died not to bad. but i have no heat in my veg and it gets down to 50 degrees at night. i use clonx powder works great for me its all about picking the green part but you can clone the big pices.

the cut is also inportant i like to shave one side then i cut it up the middle.
that all i can think right now
