Cloning & Toping Question

Here are a two pictures I would like to present of my current crop of 10. I am ready to start cloning and can take an easy 25-30 from all of these plants as a whole.

First question being more of a learning curve question since I can replace a mother with a clone.. I am going to show one where I have marked two red lines to see if can top the plant in these locations to cut their height down dramatically (after taking clones, of course). The second marking on the topping picture *furthest marking to the bottom* doesn't have much for growth nodes on either side which is why I'm curious if its OK to cut there. I'm mostly just learning how far I can cut a plant down in height at this stage for my documentation and future reference if I need to shorten a plant growing a little fast. You don't have to top at the very new growth do you?

The second picture is of one of the plants showing two of the nodes coming off of the main stem. I have marked each of these in two locations- I am curious which of these locations is my best bet to cut and clone from. I've read countless posts, viewed many youtube videos but have yet to really see anything visual showing the exact place to cut. If you have a link to one I would graciously ask if you can provide it, I would love to learn from it.

Thank you for your time.
