Cloning ...Whats more important, Temp or Humidity?

Hey guys just wanted to ask a quick question, whats more important when cloning in a dome with a heat mat. The temperature inside the dome or the humidity %? What are optimal temps and humidity %?

how often should I be misting? I presoaked my cubes in ph'd water and some earth juice catalyst and it's been 1 1/2 days with the cubes still looking like they don't need any water, this normal?

You usually have to shake water out of the cubes every once in a while from all the spraying. I spray 3x a day if I can remember to do it.

Alternatively if you just go to a hydro store and buy some wilt spray you can get away with never misting them.

The humidity should be near 100% the first 5 days, with pretty minimal light. And then after that you can take the dome off and give a little more light up until about day 14 or however long your method takes. Some clones will root in 7 days, others can take 14 or more if they're difficult.

so no direct watering to the cube just spraying?

You don't want the cubes drenched. If you hold a cube and flick it with your wrist and craploads of water come out it's too wet.

If you are cloning in a humidome there is no need to mist.......trust me, stick a therm/hygrometer in there mine reads 85 degrees and 90+% humidity at all times.

Misting the foliage can lead to probs with mold and fungus (it has for me). I water the plug or cube directly trying to avoid spraying foliage.......if you have probs with the cuttings wiltng on you make sure they get a good 6-12 hr dark period after the initial cut and are not allowed to dry out or deal with other environmental stress. Also I just switched from pruners to a razor blade for cutting clones and my strike rate went from 90% to 99%.

K well I didnt give my clones any dark period and have them on 24 hour light so hope thats ok... right now if I squeezed my cubes only a small amount of water would come out, that sound good?

When leaves begin to start leaning over more rather then standing tall and perky is this a sign of over watering or underwatering? Or does it just mean they would like a mist?

Dark period is an important step....they may continue to suffer from the stress.

"if you squeezed your cubes" I hope this means you don't squeeze your rockwool....right?

They may be leaning because they are still struggling from the stress of the cut....no dark period and all, keep them moist but not wet and you may need to mist in hopes of relieving them of some of their workload......a little prayer may help as well
