CLU058 build with HLG-600H-54B drivers

I'm going to use this thread to document the build of my first LED light assembly, based on nine CLU058-1825 COBs driven moderately hard (100~130watts) by a pair of Meanwell HLG-600H-54 drivers (4 COBs each), with a third driver (HLG-150H-54B) dedicated for the center COB alone, which will stay on during a power failure, driven at full 150watts, from a UPS. The plan is to have a wall mounted panel next to my grow tent that will house the electronics and drivers, to avoid having a really heavy light assembly.

The design so far, made for a 5x5 tent:





Still deciding on whether to use off the shelf COB holders, reflectors or perhaps a custom solder-less holder machined out of nylon.

IMHO, holders are a waste of money unless you want to attach Angelina reflectors or lenses. Just attach them directly to the sink using arctic silver thermal epoxy adhesive, and solder your wires directly to the pads. Then cover the wire and pad with a glob of RTV.

i have a 3d printer and soon-to-be operational cnc mill we can experiment
I can certainly share my CAD files. I have a Fusion3 F-400S at my disposition for prototyping. Right now, my concern is the metal insert to make it solder-less. Looking for something off the shelf preferably.

To get the ball rolling, I've finalized the COB LED engine, and will produce a couple of them within the next few days to validate the thermal design, before I make all nine of them. The heatsink I'm using is the 5.375" profile from HeatsinkUSA (7" long section), and the fan is a Corsair SP120 high static pressure computer case fan, 12Vdc version (not PWM).

Do you glue nuts to screw the fan?

Can predrill for bjb holder for 1825.
I might end up with the BJB if I don't have much luck with my own holder.

The nuts for the fan screws are designed to be press-fitted into the sheet metal (5052-H32 aluminum is fairly soft). Normally, special tooling is required, but I've done it often with just a bench vice.

what program did you use to design this?

Will the centre COB run while the rest do or is it just the emergency which is only on if the rest cut out?
It will run with the rest of them. I have a Coralux Storm LED controller (with a 10V analog converter from RapidLED) and plan to use separate channels for the drivers. The controller itself will also be plugged into the UPS, and I'm assuming it isn't receiving any feedback from the drivers, so it won't care that two of the three drivers lost power.

So according to RapidLED, the HLG-600H turns off when it's dimmed to 0V, but the HLG-150H (all lower models than the 320) will not, it will stay on, dimly lit... This kinda sucks, this means I can't control all three the same way. I would need a relay and a signal to shut it off, or upgrade it to the HLG-320H.

An additional problem is that all my fans are three pin 12VDC. The Coralux Storm can control fans, but only 4 pin PWM fans... gonna have to solve this one. I don't feel like buying another 9 PWM fans :/

No need to control fans, let them run at full speed whenever the lights are on.
