Can y'all gimme some input on my setupI'm getting ready. Okay so I have a 1000w digi ballast with s solistek splitter. 48"x48"x78" tent, I plan on running a 3100k de 630w cmh and a 400w horti hps. Is this spectrum gonna be good for autos? Will that extra 30w overload the ballast? I also have a cheapy 300w bloomspect led Im gonna start my beans with. 8" 770cfm inlinefan/filter combo.
I'm gonna probably just use promix in 5 gallon Barney buckets<<<< just a 5 gallon plastic bucket with a 5" hole cut in the center of the bottom with a 5" netpot attached with the bottom of the netpot in the bucket for air circulation. So if it hard to picture just flip the 5 gallon bucket upside down and cut a hole and attach the netpot as you would if you were gonna actually use it for growing.

That's way too much heat for a 4x4, a 1000w hps by itself is going to be very hard to cool in that area.

Not using a 1000w hps...... And I'll have plenty of air circulation. Maybe reread the post....

I can’t see How this even possible? Have you tried powering up those bulbs at the same time? If not when you do I’d have a fire extinguisher ready and hide in the corner. Seems to me like a hazard waiting to happen. I don’t see how the ballast would be able to handle that load like that. What happens if a bulb burns out? If you have tried this and it works I would like to know. Seems like wishful thinking to me. BUT if it was me I’d drop the 400 hps, find a suitable ballast for the 630 CMH and run just that. The cheap LED will be fine for seedlings.

Well the splitter makes the dual startup safe and ive seen multiple grows running two 600w hps with this setup so I'd venture to say 30w ain't gonna make a fuck. I wasn't asking about the technical side of this, more of a spectrum combo question. As for Johnny..... What is so "wtf" about this thread? Your lack of knowledge about high frequency ballasts running a 630w cmh bulb or just jumping on a bandwagon that has no wheels? Do some research or you might be the only "dumb idea" in this thread!

Go for it then. I'm sure you won't have any issues.

Yeah, this is still a wtf thread.

I believe your missing the whole technical aspect of this. That splitter is designed for 2 600w Bulbs. Not a 630 and a 400. That splitter is just that, a splitter. It is not a magic diverter that know exactly how much power to send to each output. You will get roughly 500-550 watts to each plug, underpowering your cmh to the point that I doubt it even turns on and the 400 will be overpowered to the point that it is dangerous. I recommend you not do this. At the very least, contact solistek and tell them exactly what your doing. I’m betting they tell you that it is not at all designed for what your trying to do.

Shhhhh.

You're making way too much sense for this thread. Stop it.

Yeah well, while blowing shit up is fun for all. This guy probably lives in an apartment complex surrounded by kids so if we can avoid a fire by letting him know this is a BAD idea it’s better for everyone.

Well what I see is you can split it into two of the SAME wattage. Like I said be smart and call them. They are going to tell you that what you want to do is not going to work and is not recommended and is dangerous.
I’m putting it as nicely as I can but until you talk to them and get over the fact that you don’t like people telling you that it won’t work this is a giant WTF THREAD.

This forum site has more dip shits than all other dope growing sites combined. How some of you pull off anything smokable and in a safe manner is beyond me sometimes. Holy sshheeiitt. It's pretty straightforward. It's not that hard man. Quit over thinking this dope growing thing and stick to the basics of trying to grow some plants all the way through without killing yourself or anyone else. Come the fuck on. Stick that 1000 watt lamp in your gay ass little tent. Air cool the hood properly. Keep it up high as it CAN be alot of light for a 4x4. And cut out the nonsense. Get to growing some frikin plants already. Put that splitter back in the box where it belongs until you know what the fuk your doing son. Jesus h frikin christ.

It clearly says output two 600/400, output 1 600, so yeah I contacted the company yesterday and am awaiting a response. I'm not hating on people telling me it can't be done, just hating on people who really have no clue telling me it can't be done. I will post Solis teks response once received. Thanks.

You'll get no support from solis unless you follow all their instructions. They'll only support that product if you are using exactly like they say, right down to the brand of ballasts AND lamps, guess which brand.
