Cob led sensitivity

Im having trouble finding info about this..

How sensitive are these leds? I bought 2 X 4 cbx3590, four foot length bar. They came without protective glass/lens. The bars were wrapped in bubble wrap. Any chance any diodes can be destroyed just by something (like plastic) touching it?

Is it better to get a lens to cover the cobs or will the lenses "steal" light?

And, i sprayed neemoil in the tent and some drops might have accidentally flown onto the lights (lights were off). Is it safe to put them on? Should one wipe very carefully with a cloth or something?

Shit was so easy with the hps...

Your cob will be fine. If u got doplets on it while off just wipe it off. They are not open diodes. I would definitely get some reflectors for them they come in wide 45° extra wide 90°. They have lenses also but i dont know about them.

I can see how grease on something that gets rapidly hotter like a car's halogen headlight might make it blow out. If you're worried about that you could use a q-tip dipped in a small amount of strong iso/ethyl alcohol to clean it and dry it w/ a lint free cloth. If anything this would be a bigger problem w/ HPS.

I run mine bare and don't use a lens because I've heard it reduces output somewhat. In a small grow tent (like mine) reflectors were unnecessary but I'm using a 2x2.5.
