Coconut oil extract had 2 layers of oil?

Yea so as the title says, I used about 52g trim, 10g bud, 20g vaped bud, about 2 cups of coconut oil, 1 tablespoon of soy lecithin and strained with multiple layers cheesecloth. I have made coconut oil in the past and never had a separation like this before it has always been one solid oil chunk but as you will see in the pictures, I had a hard top layer which was the normal stuff and a bottom cream cheese texture like layer which was really weird.

I ended up doing another extraction by taking chilled oil layer and adding warm water.

I then sucked up the top dark oil layer with a syringe multiple times until lighter oil layer mixed in and stored to the side (recovered 1 cup of pure dark oil).

I then poured the remaining solution into a big ass bowl and diluted with more water and threw it in the fridge it ended up being quite a lot and i just said fuck it and threw it into some brownies. Shit fucked my girl up big time she started crying from 1 brownie on a freak out me on the other hand had 2 big brownies and im just chillin mad high feeling good, about 12 brownies a tray, but that’s not the point here... The point is i don’t want this poo poo creamy layer ever ever ever again. So please any tips would be greatly appreciated. Im fucked up this thread took too long to write.

Bro! I just made my first batch and it came out pretty similar to what you described. A green layer on top with a softer whiter layer on the bottom. I made a thread but hopefully we can get an answer. (this was my first time with coconut oil)

Are you guys using water with the oil like is done to make budder? Or fresh wet pot? Mine has never looked like that and that pic you have Bud Nugbong looks really weird.

I use a Variac to raise the line voltage to about 120% so I can get the oil a lot hotter in the crock pot and make it decard in the oil to save all the terpines that get lost by decarbing in the oven first. Very dry cured trim or bud sieved through 1mm mesh and not ground up. No water is used and lecithin is added after the temp is brought down from a high of 260F to below 212F then it's simmered overnight at around 180F then strained through a fine mesh sieve.

The large jar is 20:1 and the other is 10:1 and really potent. 2mls of the 10:1 kicks my ass.

Still liquid.
