Coco's auto experience.

I have always liked my seeds regular I'm not a big fan of feminized or autos. But a buddy of mine gave me 2 to try and I received a few with a see order from the DC exchange. So with some reluctance here goes my first attempt at a auto crop. It's a bit mixed but hey grow what you got right? So for the strains I have white widow auto, C99 auto, and 2 critical x jack herer autos. I have little knowledge on growing autos so advice is welcome.

Get them into bigger pots ASAP or you're going to have some mighty small plants.

Lol they are like 2 days old I don't think a transplant is in the picture for a week or two

Oh no I am definitely looking for advice and no need to be sorry.I just think transplanting 2 days in is bad advice. They will be transplanted but I think I'll wait until they have a toy ball before I do it.

You want to start autos in the final pot that they will finish in. Minimize all the stress you can to them becuase they have such a short life span. Pretty much everything seems to stunt them. Once the beans popped its on and crackin. Also feeding will be different. You dont need to feed till it pretty much starts to flower (3-4wks after it breaks soil) and the feeding will be light. 1/4-1/2 strength is a good zone while even pushing 1/2 strength. Just watch for nute burn, they can be really sensative to nutes. Oh and no cloning or topping. Iv seen people on here do it and have good results but its pretty rare.

Thanks for the info. I will keep that in mind if I decide to grow anymore autos.

Autos are very fickle, any setbacks will cost, transplant now before tap root hits the bottom of pot , dont top , A 7-1 light program works well , LST = WIN.........dont over fert, & if the breeder says 70 days , look at 80 days , do not defoliate, airpots or smart pots = win..........good luck but dont expect a pound

Thanks for the info. I'm not expecting much. I like my regular seeds. This is just something to try since they were free

I'll sit in this one. I'll be quiet unless I have some sound advice. I will say, I've seen plenty of transplanted autos do fine, as long as it's done carefully. I have a couple now...no problems.

IMO: they can be sensitive and get shocked easily but you can transplant them just be careful like Yeatster said. dont go longer then 2 weeks in the red cups . nice airy coco with perlite works great. as for pot size bigger is better for the most part. good luck man, I hope you do well and start growing autos more regularly in your garden their cool ass plants.

I have just small experience with autos and I have been told over and over to keep autos growing, don't transplant. So my plan is to try to keep it growing fast as the first day grew. I transplanted this time but don't like it!

Autos are fun to play with . the only problems I had with them at first we're transplanting they hate being transplanted. Easiest way to fix that is in maybe 8 days carefully cut the bottoms off the cups and plant them into a pot halfway up the cup that way roots don't get disturbed and stunt the autos. Hope you have a great grow with them. They seem to like the sun over here in Australia. Cheers mate

You can cut the cup, put that cup inside another cup, full with medium, plant your seed. When ready to transplant, remove bottom cup. No disturbance.

Awesome advice guys. I did transplant last night. I moved them into 3 gal pots which is what they will finish in.

I'll be using a soul mix for most of my feedings and I'll be supplementing with the Earth juice line up. They will grow under a 400w hps and a 400w mh.

Alright so 2 out of 4 autos were transplanted and moved to the other room with the 2 400w. I only have the one 400mh running at the moment I'll probably wait a little to turn the hps on. Here is a pic of the veg room most of this will be heading outside. The critical x jack herer autos are still in the veg room I'm waiting a day or two to I transplant them. The rest of the strains are
Hazeman-
12-Comet Kush
2-Critical x jack herer auto
Digital Gentics-
12- snowberry blue
13- grape snow train
13- digital dream
Guy down the road-
4- fucked up plants (but better now) not sure of the strain.
