I know coffee and tea can be used for nitrogen, common consenses seems to be use used grounds. Would it be of any consequence to use fresh grounds instead.

LOL...I guess I will stick with used grounds. The new grounds are just so much easier to deal with.

Make a pot of coffee drink it then use the grounds. lol
Thats how I get it now from work, at the end of each day there are probably 10 filters full of grounds that I take, just sometimes messy. I was thinking taking a bunch of unopened packs of coffee instead.

You could make the coffee at home a drain it. but that seems like a waste. BTW you should be using organic free trade :)

Coffee grounds & tea are ok - as long as they have been run through the south end of a worm. Yes, vermicomposting. Red worms & earthworms love both coffee & tea. Once, they have eaten them and pooped them out - they rule. Worm Castings are what they are called. You mix about (8) four tablespoons to a quart of water, agaitate for about a minute - then let sit over night. It provides very smooth, soluble nitrogen (about .10 percent - not a full percent) but most of all - it provides, beneficial microorganisms like mychorrizzal fungi (which are found in the digestive tract of all red worms & earthworms) these fungi rock... They will turn average plants in the ass kicking, tough as nails, super bud machines. You can buy worm castings on Ebay and make your own Worm Castings Tea (agaitating with a aquarium pump helps) or buy some ready made tea. Blue Mountain Organics makes the best I've ever used. Search Organic Fertilizer or Organic Plant Tonic on Ebay to find it.

Don't use straight coffee or tea - both are very acidic - promote (bad) fungi - attract ants, gnats and other pests of opportunity. Unless, they have been vermicomposted by Mr & Mrs. Wiggly Worm, or hot composted - I'd leave them alone.

I respectfully disagree. I have never seen any detrimental affects of either mixing the grounds into the soil or putting it on top of the soil. I dont vermipost either.
