After doing a bit of digging, alot of these places seem to charge per gram with no quantity discount. Is this common or what?

At the other end of the spectrum....there are these sites like "getagrower.ca" which are offering free meds to patients? Whose the real crook here?

The real crooks are the compassion clubs who are supposed to be "Compassionate" but charge higher then street prices for non medical marijuana. Yes they buy the bulk of their product from illegal growers. Most of the clients from compassion clubs are non card holders.

Getagrower screens growers and finds one that are compassionate enough to give their patients free medication.

They must have a hard time finding growers....

Nobody on this earth does anything for free, especially if they're good at it.

It's simple, the growers sell of extra grown medicine on the black market, I've been told this directly by Ivan, as I inquired exactly how they were able to provide me free meds.

I figured that was the case. But I dont see the point of becoming a "legal" grower if you have to make blackmarket deals to keep your "patients" happy. They're well medicated but the grower is still risking a trip to the big house. I guess some people would call that compassion, I would call it dumb.

My concern with this kind of an operation would be guilt by association. It's certainly not rocket science to understand that the vast majority of "legal" grows are getting sold on the black market. Don't you think this is "justification" for harassment or worse of the patients who receive the "free" meds?

Well the patients have complete deniablity providing the dont live with or are associated with the DG, so there's no concern to the patient.

Justification? Im sorry I dont understand what your trying to say.

Fair enough. To me it seems that law enforcement could use grower's black marketing as a justification for investigating a patient. You know the patient must be guilty of something because he's associated with the person selling the product. I'm far from paranoid, I'm doing everything in my power to keep my nose clean. It just seems to me to be something patients should consider before getting involved with an outside grower.

That's the main reason I didn't end up going with someone from getagrower, because in my eyes, the DG's actions which are not dictated by me at all, have an effect of a interruption in my medicine supply should this individual get busted selling off extra grown medicine to the black market. This is something no patient should be willing to risk if their at all serious about cannabis being a medication.

But me being the patient would not be held liable for the actions of the individual growing my medicine, I would simply suffer a permanent interruption in my medicine supply, which for anyone in pain, is similar to being in jail...

Some is the key word, most on the other hand say flat out they don't offer deals on larger orders.

Sadly Pharoah it can happen to legal growers also, I have seen first hand where the bulls rip everything out with your license hanging right in their faces. There is no guarantee even if you are legal. This is the grey zone.

Knowing what I know about cannabis, cannabinoids and cancer I no longer look at it as illegal in any way. I save lives with my meds.

My life was first and now helping others is my goal. The license is political bullshit.

Compassion clubs are illegal stay away they are shady ppl
LOL...Thats just a ridiculous comment.

Websites like getagrower or any such organization offering free meds is far more shady. I read a good article in Cannabis Culture about how police raided a DG and implicated the cardholding patient for trafficking because he was receiving free meds from the DG. So I guess my previous comment stating patients have "complete deniability" is incorrect.

Something to consider if your getting your meds for free from a DG....

No nerves struck here.

Obviously these clubs are in business to make money. Do you expect someone to open a store, hire staff and give away free product out of the goodness of heart?

I agree the name is an oxymoron but do you think they would be allowed to operate if they were called "the pot store" or something of the like? The name is a tactic nothing more.
